The University of Montreal or Universit de Montra (UdeM) is one of the leading research universities of the world that offers courses in French and English language. It was established in 1878 and is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The main campus of the university is located in the neighbourhoods of Outremont and Cte-des-Neiges on the northern slope of Mount Royal. The University of Montreal comprises thirteen faculties, two affiliated schools, and more than sixty departments. The schools affiliated to the university are the Polytechnique Montral (School of Engineering) and HEC Montral (School of Business). It has all the important academic affiliations like that of AUCC, AUF, IAU, AUFC, ACU, QSSF, IFPU, CUP, U15, CBIE, etc.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The main campus of the university is the Montreal campus that houses 40 buildings and stretches over an area of 150 acres. The other campus is Laval campus. The students can either complete some or all of the coursework at Laval Campus. The Saint-Hyacinthe campus offers over 900 courses and is offered by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Apart from this, the Mauricie campus offers an exceptional education to medical students. Some of the other campuses are Longueuil campus, MIL campus, and Lanaudire campus and Outremont. The undergraduate courses at the University of Montreal are only offered in French.More than 650 undergraduate programmes and graduate programmes, inclusive of 71 doctoral programmes are offered at the University of Montreal.

It is at number 110 in the list of top universities of the World and is the fifth topmost university of Canada, according to the Centre for World University Ranking (CWUR). It is a co-educational university, and has produced about 34,335 undergraduate and more than 11,925 post-graduate students, excluding those of the affiliated schools. The former students and alumni od the University of Montreal have made exceptional careers for themselves and have become experts globally. Some notable alumni of the university serve as academicians, government officials, and business leaders across the world.
