What's new at CIT Coimbatore 2023?

The schedule for round three of TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) counselling has been announced by the authorities. According to the notice, the TNEA round 3 counselling procedure will begin on August 24, 2023, with the choice-filling process for CIT Coimbatore admission to the B.Tech courses. CIT Coimbatore admissions 2023 to the B.Tech course are based on TNEA Counselling, that is conducted in multiple rounds.

Coimbatore Institute of Technology was founded in the year 1956. The Institute was established by the V. Rangaswamy Naidu Educational Trust with the purpose of promoting professional learning and industry training skills (VRET). The school is an independent engineering institution with government funding. In 1987, it became autonomous. Up until 1980, CIT was initially associated with Madras University; after that time, the affiliation was changed to Bharathiar University. The Institute is presently associated with Anna University (from 2001). According to the NIRF Engineering Ranking 2021, Coimbatore Institute of Technology is rated 102.

The CIT Coimbatore courses are offered in various postgraduate courses, integrated M.Sc, PhD, and undergraduate specialisations. There are 13 distinct departments at CIT, including those for physics, chemistry, civil engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, and electronics and communication engineering. The Institute provides a total of nine postgraduate programmes, three integrated five-year M.Sc. programmes, seven undergraduate programmes, and doctoral research programmes. Coimbatore Institute of Technology courses are offered to interested candidates in a wide range of engineering-related specialisations. The marks attained in the relevant entrance exams and 10+12 or comparable qualifying examinations, followed by a counselling session, determine admission for all programmes at CIT Coimbatore. Depending on the course being applied for, the acceptable CIT Coimbatore admission exams include JEE Mains, TNEA, CIT-CET, TANCET, GATE, and CIT-MSc.

CIT Coimbatore Admission Process

• Candidates must download and complete the online application form before submitting it.
• Students must register on the TNEA website before filling out the form.
• Students will receive a rank list after the results of the relevant entrance tests are released, using which counselling will be conducted. Students can sign up for counselling on the TNEA website stated above.
• For the BE/BTech and ME/MTech/MCA programmes, respectively, all seats are distributed based on the counselling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, and Anna University.
• The selection process for applicants to MSc Integrated courses will be based on the CIT-MSc Entrance Exam administered by the Institute, with personal interviews being held for those who made the shortlist. All applicants for the MSc must pay a nominal fee of Rs 1000.
• The following documents must be on hand for all applicants during the application, counselling, and interview processes.
• After getting shortlisted, appear for verification of documents and pay the course fee to ensure your admission to CIT Coimbatore.
