About CLAT

CLAT is a national-level law entrance exam conducted annually in offline mode (pen and paper-based). Through this exam, candidates are offered admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law courses such as five-year integrated BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB, BSc LLB and LLM. Apart from NLUs, several other Government law colleges in India accept CLAT scores. The examination is a comprehension-based paper where an individual's legal aptitude, skills, and knowledge are tested. CLAT scores are also accepted by top institutes such as NMIMS-Mumbai, UPES Dehradun, Institute of Law, and Nirma University Ahmedabad.

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is the conducting body of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). It was set up on August 19, 2017, in order to impart standard legal education in India. The Consortium helps facilitate better relationships among 22 NLUs in India to improve the standards of legal education. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the entrance exam basically conducted for admission National Law Universities (NLUs) in India.
