UCEED Exam Pattern 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, released the UCEED 2024 exam pattern on October 3, 2023. The details are available in the UCEED 2024 Information Brochure. Notably, there have been revisions to the UCEED 2024 exam pattern, following an earlier revision of the UCEED 2024 syllabus by IIT Bombay. In the updated pattern, Part B now comprises two questions: one drawing-based and the other design-aptitude-based. Previously, Part B featured only a single drawing-based question. Additionally, the time allotted for Part B has been extended to 60 minutes (from 30 minutes), while Part A's duration has been shortened to 120 minutes (from 150 minutes). Changes have also been made to the total and section-wise questions for Part A. The UCEED 2024 exam is scheduled for January 21, 2024, and the application window is currently open. The UCEED exam pattern 2024, there will be a total of 300 marks for the entire question paper for Part A and Part B. It is mandatory to attempt all the questions. There will be 3 different types of questions on the UCEED Part A exam paper:
14 questions with Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions (four marks each; no deducted points). The response to these questions is a numeric value that must be typed using the virtual keyboard displayed on the computer screen. For these queries, there won't be any available options.
There will be 15 Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) in Section 2. Out of the four options provided, each MSQ may have one, many, or all of the right answers. The scoring system is as follows:
Full Marks: +4 If just the right choice(s) is(are) made and NOT ONE of the wrong choice(s) is(are) made.
Partial Marks: +3 if just three of the four alternatives are picked and none of the incorrect ones, even if all four are accurate.
Partial Marks: +2 if NONE of the incorrect options is picked, but ONLY TWO options, both of which are correct, are chosen out of three or more correct options.
Partial Marks: +1 if NONE of the wrong options is picked and TWO or MORE correct options are selected, but ONLY ONE correct option is.
Zero Marks: 0 If none of the choices is made, leave the question open-ended.
Negative Marks: -1 in all other situations.
Section 3 will contain 28 Multiple Choice Questions or MCQs (3 marks for each correct answer; 0.71 negative points for wrong responses). Each MCQ will have four possible answers, only one of which is right

There will be two questions in Part B. Candidates are only required to fill out the answer booklet provided by the invigilator, even when the Part B question is displayed on a computer screen. Part B consists of a single question that students have 30 minutes to respond to. PwD candidates who hire a scribe are not eligible for Part B assistance. This is a result of the inquiry's attempt to evaluate the applicant's drawing skills. The booklet will be picked up by the invigilator after the test duration is over. Every question in Part B must be answered by the candidates within the stipulated time.
As you might know, there are two sections to the UCEED syllabus: Part A and Part B. There is only one question in part B which is related to Drawing. The candidates have to draw people, scenes and products in proportion with good line quality, proportion, composition, shading and perspective.

There will be a total of 57 questions in Part A of the UCEED 2024 exam, distributed across three sections:
- Section 1: NAT (Numerical Answer Type): 14 questions (4 marks each; no negative marks)
- Section 2: MSQ (Multiple Select Question): 15 questions (4 marks each; no negative marking for unchosen options)
- Section 3: MCQ (Multiple Choice Question): 28 questions (3 marks each for the correct answer; 0.71 negative marks for incorrect answers)
The UCEED 2024 exam has a total duration of 3 hours, divided equally between its two parts:
- Part A (Objective): 3 hours (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
- Part B (Drawing and Design Aptitude): No separate time limit, but generally recommended to allocate 1.5 hours (9:00 AM - 10:30 AM or 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM)
The UCEED 2024 exam is divided into two parts:
- Part A: This is a computer-based section with 57 objective-type questions covering three types: Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Question (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Question (MCQ).

UCEED is conducted in the online mode. It is a computer based test and candidates have to appear for the exam at the allocated test centres.
Yes, apart from Part B and one section in Part A, there is negative marking for wrong answers in the remaining sections of UCEED.
Yes, it is mandatory for all candidates to answer all the sections of Part A and Part B of UCEED.
In Part A of UCEED, 4 marks are given for every correct answer. In Section B, 0.19 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer and in Section C, 0.71 marks are deducted.
As per the revised UCEED 2024 exam pattern, Part B holds a total of 100 marks, split between two specific questions:
- Drawing-based question: 50 marks
- Design-aptitude-based question: 50 marks
Both questions have equal importance in calculating your overall score and rank in the UCEED exam. Doing well in Part B can greatly improve your chances of getting admission to the design programs you aspire to join.
UCEED is conducted in English medium. The question paper is set in English.
A total of 68 questions are asked in the Part A of UCEED. 18 questions each are asked in Section 1 and 2 and 32 questions are asked in Section 3.

SC, ST or PwD category candidates date of birth certificate should mention the birth date on or after October 1, 1991.
