Delhi Government & British Council Partner for Spoken English in Schools

Delhi government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with British Council of India to provide spoken English training to Delhi government school students. Over 12,000 students will be provided with training for 160 hours.

Delhi government has signed a pact with British Council of India to strengthen the spoken English skills among the government school students.

The association will provide training to class 11 students of all Delhi government schools. More than 12,000 students will be provided with spoken English training for 160 hours. Apart from students, British Council will also impart training to teachers of all Delhi government schools so that they are well trained and can train students in a more efficient manner.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, Mayur Vihar’s Sahodaya Kanya Vidyalaya and Christopher Rodrigues, Chairman, British Council (Global) to strengthen the educational cooperation between the two. He also informed that apart from teaching spoken English skills, the programme will also impart classes on cultural diversity and skill development.

Christopher Rodrigues, Chairman, British Council (Global) expressed his happiness regarding the association and thanked the Delhi government for doubling the budget for education.

Meanwhile, British Council of India and North Eastern Council have come together to strengthen the education system in the North East states. The pact will support and promote higher education and English language skills in the Northeastern states.
