GD Goenka University hosted its fourth convocation wherein 421 graduates of Bachelors, Masters, PG diploma and doctorate courses received their degrees and diplomas.

On February 20, 2019, GD Goenka University conducted its 4th Convocation Ceremony. The convocation of GD Goenka University was attended by all the students of the graduating year. 421 graduands of Masters, Bachelors, Doctorate Degree as well as PG Diploma Programmes across different institutions such as the School of Communication, School of Architecture & Planning, School of Education, School of Fashion & Design, School of Engineering, School of Hospitality, School of Law, School of Humanities and Social Sciences and School of Management were awarded their degrees and diplomas.

GD Goenka has emerged as one of the top private universities in India in its 5 years of operation. The esteemed university that started with 500 students, has approximately 3000 students in total in 2019.

Esteemed guests who were present to inspire and motivate the students through their speeches included the Former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee. Other distinguished guests who graced the convocation with their presence were, Renu Goenka, the Chancellor of GD Goenka University, Vice Chairperson GD Goenka Group, Ghanshyam Tiwari, National Spokesperson of Samajwadi Party, Rohit Gujral, Director of GD Goenka Group and, Nipun Goenka, Managing Director of the GD Goenka Group. Also present were Prof. (Dr.) S. Shantha Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Nitesh Bansal, Registrar of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Suku Bhaskaran, President, Deans of respective Schools, the faculty members, and University officials. Renu Goenka welcomed the guests with a floral welcome and started the convocation thereafter.

Prof. (Dr.) Suku Bhaskaran presented the annual report of the University and mentioned that GD Goenka University has been awarded the top private university in North India by ASSOCHAM and the Best University for Pharmacy Education by ABP Group. He also said that knowledge sharing has been one of the most important priorities of the university while addressing the importance of not only learning but disseminating. On the note of academic excellence and talent acquisition, he highlighted the 89% placement record, and further added that the university has waived off fees of more than a hundred meritorious students who belonged to the economically backward sections.

Prof. (Dr.) Bhaskaran also added that the university has staff from all over India and abroad. GD Goenka University is also a member of the International Association of the Universities and Association of Common Wealth of Universities. Pranab Mukherjee awarded Shri Gopinath Goenka award to the meritorious students. Also, students having exceptional academic record got 24 medals of 12 gold, 10 silver, and 2 bronze.
