BSEB (Bihar School Education Board) has approved a proposal to make two-year ITI diploma awarded by ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) across Bihar equivalent to Class 12. The proposal was tabled by the Department of Labour Resources and the BSEB has approved the same with certain rules and regulations. The latest approval will allow ITI pass outs to pursue degree courses and appear for various competitive exams that require Class 12 certificate.
BSBE Rules for ITI Diploma Equivalency to Class 12 Certificate
BSBE has laid down certain conditions to treat ITI diploma equivalent to Class 12 certificate. The norms prescribed by BSBE are –
- ITI pass outs who are planning to pursue degree courses or appear for any competitive exams must clear English and Hindi language exams conducted by BSEB.
- ITI pass outs clearing English and Hindi language exams will be awarded Class 12 certificate by BSEB so that they can apply for various courses or competitive exams that require a Class 12 certificate.

BSEB will upload the application forms for English and Hindi language exams for ITI pass outs on its official website in January 2019. The exams for ITI pass outs will be conducted in May or June 2019. The board will confirm the official dates for these exams in January 2019. ITI pass outs can make use of this opportunity to widen their chances of pursuing higher studies.
