Jamia Millia Islamia has started training programme to help unemployed youth in employment generation. The courses are being funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

JMI Launches Training Programme to Help Unemployed Youth Find Jobs

Jamia Millia Islamia's Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management will train unemployed youngsters between the age group of 18-28 years. It will also help them find relevant placement opportunities under the Hunar Se Rozgar Tak (HSRT) scheme. Around 360 youngsters will be offered training under the skill testing and certification programme of the Ministry of Tourism.

According to the official release of JMI, the demand for skilled manpower is growing day by day, especially in the hospitality sector. Keeping that in mind, JMI has decided to meet the requirement of the hospitality sector by producing a skilled workforce.

The HSRT scheme is also offering two courses in Front Office Associate and Skill Testing and Certification. The duration of the courses is 12 weeks and 6 days. Both the courses are supervised and funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.

Till now, more than 120 youngsters have been trained under the respective scheme, and the CRPF is also keen to train 400 of its employees under the skill testing and certification scheme. Out of it, 50 employees have already been trained.

The Ministry of Tourism started the HSRT scheme to provide the youth of the country with employable skills and increase their employability. The initiative is a part of the CBSP scheme- Capacity Building for Service Providers. The main aim is to increase the number of skilled manpower in the hospitality sector. All the programmes under the HSRT scheme are free of cost for all the students to increase the employability of underprivileged youth of the country and to help them find relevant jobs in the hospitality sector.
