Founded in 1937, Fujian Medical University is situated in Taijiang District, Fujian, China. Commonly known as FJMU, the university was approved by the Fujian Provincial People’s Govt for priority development as one of the key universities in 2003. For over 80 years of its inception, the university has been focusing on promoting technological, scientific and advanced culture. Fujian Medical University has been ranked 285th in China and 2564th in the world. FJMU is recognised by WHO and accredited by MCI, USMLE, SCHS, PMDC and HPCSA. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Currently, Fujian Medical University offers 25 Bachelor’s, 59 Masters and 22 Doctorate programmes. The university comprises 19 departments and schools and has two authorised Master degree specialities. The beautiful campus of Fujian Medical University is covering an area of about 87 hectares with a floor space of 400K sq meters. The university currently has two campuses, namely Taijiang Campus and Shangjie Campus. FMU has two research stations offering postdoctoral fellowships, a key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, 12 provincial key disciplines, 7 key laboratories and research centres and many more. 

Accomplishments & Alumni 

The university has 10 affiliated hospitals and 26 clinical teaching hospitals. Nine of the total hospitals possess world-class facilities offering ample amounts of research and practising resources to its students. FMU publishes many academic entitled journals and periodicals. With its powerful resources and excellent administration, the university is fully committed to cultivating medical minds and providing health care by exploring, preventing and treating diseases. 

Student Diversity & International Collaborations

Fujian Medical University has over 12,000 undergraduate enrollments, more than 2,200 postgraduate and doctoral students. About 835 full-time teachers are present at the university providing its students with proper guidance at any time. FMU has developed collaborative relationships with medical research institutes and universities from countries like Japan, United States, Denmark, Sweden, Australia, Canada, Finland, etc. Talking about student diversity at Fujian Medical University, it offers 300 seats in MBBS programmes for international students from India, Pakistan, Kenya, Bangladesh, etc.
