Ningxia Medical University, previously known as Ningxia Medical college, was established in 1958. With the approval of the Ministry of Education, NMU was promoted to a comprehensive university in the year 2008. The university is situated in Yinchuan, the capital city of China. Ningxia Medical University is accredited by World Health Organisation (WHO), Medical Council of India (MCI), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Health Professional Council of South Africa, United States Medical Licensing Examination and Hospital and Community Health Services.  

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

This comprehensive medical university caters to the majors of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Western Medicine along with other medical specialities. The university has three levels of teaching programmes for undergraduate, postgraduate and three-year training students. Ningxia Medical University has two campuses covering an area of around 8.3 lac square metre with a construction area of 2.9 lac square metre. The book collection at the university library goes as high as 7.3 lac volumes. The university has 12 teaching hospitals, 5 affiliated hospitals, 16 secondary schools and 60 field practice bases.

Ningxia Medical University has obtained many honours like National May 1st Labor Certificate, National Civilised Unit, National May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee, National Advanced Basic-level Party Organisation, Outstanding For College Students’ Ideological and Political Work, etc. The university has actively been conducting international exchange and cooperation programmes. It has established a friendly academic relationship with many health and medical organisations and many domestic as well as abroad universities in countries like Japan, France, Canada, Italy, Australia, Britain, etc. 

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

Since its beginning in 1958, over 20 thousand health care and medical students have graduated from Ningxia Medical University. Currently, the university has about 8,000 students, out of which, around 1,000 are graduate students and 80 are international students. NMU has a teaching staff of about 3,000 professionals with 253 associate professors and 146 professors. Due to its continuous approach towards conducting international exchange and cooperation programmes, the university has become a very friendly environment for international students.
