Pirogov Russian National Medical University is one of the oldest medical universities in Russia. RNIMU is named after N.I. Pirogov achieved the National Research University status in 2010 after the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. The university completed 113 years of excellence in 2019. Being one of the oldest universities, Pirogov has always been successful in producing skilled and qualified medical professionals. Pirogov is the first university in India that provided women with an opportunity to get into higher education that too in the field of medicine. The School of Biomedicine was set up in Pirogov in 1963. In terms of global rankings, the university is doing its best to improve the rankings. In 2019, the university featured in QS and THE Rankings. Pirogov Medical University is striving hard to bag the top spots in global rankings, and various qualitative activities are being taken up for achieving the same.
