Tula State University (TulSU) was initially founded as Tula Mechanical Institute in 1930 located in Tula, Tula oblast, Russia. Later in 1992, it was transformed into Tula State Technical University by order of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Technical Policy of the Russian Federation. Finally, in 1995, the Tula State Technical University was renamed Tula State University by the order of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Higher Education. TulSU is one of the leading universities in Russia and is well known for its centre of science, education and culture in the region. Tula State University is recognized among the top twenty classical universities in Russia.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Tula State University is the largest state university in Central Russia. TulSU campus expands across an area of 150 acres and has 2 Faculties, 12 institutes and 73 departments where teaching and research work are carried out. In the last three decades, TulSU has seen massive transformation and started offering courses in diverse fields of studies like medical science, humanitarian, socio-economic and natural sciences. Accommodation facilities are provided at the TulSU to students who require hostels and facilities are allocated on a priority basis. The teaching programmes offered at TulSU are delivered by more than 1200 teachers including 717 associate professors and candidates of sciences as 237 doctors of sciences. Tula State University has a separate Medical Institute to offer various courses in the field of medicine.

At present, more than 16, 000 students study at Tula State University (TulSU) among which over 440 students are enrolled in postgraduate studies, 11 in a doctoral programme and more than 100 are interns. Tula State University (TulSU) has more than 700 international students from across 50 countries enrolled in various academic programmes. Most graduates of Tula State University find a suitable position in professional life soon after acquiring a degree from the university. TulSU was listed in the upper alpha league along with 25 other universities in an assessment of universities done by All-Russian public organization Delovaya Rossiya and VTsIOM on the employment of graduates of various universities in Russia.
