Latest Update (March 24, 2022):After declaring GREAT scholarships for Indian postgraduate students, British Council has now declared 6 fully-funded scholarships for Indian English teachers at 2 UK universities so that they can do a postgraduate course on English language teaching. English teachers teaching in or with primary or secondary schools of the government sector in India can benefit from this opportunity.

3 scholarships have been announced for the full-time face-to-face MA TESOLprogramme at the University of Leeds. The course will start in September 2022 and end in August 2023. While the rest 3 scholarships will be given for the part-time online MSc TESOL programme of the University of Stirling. This includes a fully-funded residential visit to the University of Stirling for two weeks.
The scholarships will include IELTS exam costs, tuition fees, stipend for living expenses while in the UK, flights and connecting travel to the UK, visa costs and insurance.

The applicants who have received an offer from the universities can go ahead with the application for the scholarships. The deadline for the application of scholarship for the MA programme at the University of Leeds is May 1, 2022 and the deadline for the online MSc programme at the University of Stirling is June 17, 2022.

(March 23, 2022): British Council has collaborated with the GREAT Britain Campaign of the UK government and partnered with UK universities to offer20 GREAT scholarships for Indian students. The students of 16 universities are eligible for this scholarship in a variety of subjects like Business, Design, Finance, Humanities, Marketing, Human resources, among others.
Besides the above scholarships, the Indian students will get sevenGREAT scholarships for Justice and Law. The subjects for which they can apply includehuman rights, criminal justice, commercial law and others. The same will beapplicable to one of the top and oldest law schools in the world.

The amount of the scholarship is GBP 10,000 which will be applicable for the tuition fee of a one-year postgraduate course at a UK university. The students will now be encouraged to study postgraduate courses for the autumn session of 2022. The ties between the two nations will be strengthened and provide wider ingress to the universities of the UK.
Some of the participating universities are Cranfield University, Falmouth University, University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, University of Southampton and many more.
The eligibility for the GREAT scholarships requiresstudents to have completed the undergraduate courses,motivated andinterested in the subject area. Theyshould also meet the English language criteria of the university and establish engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment.
