Indians continued to obtain the maximum number of H-1B visas out of the total allotment done during fiscal 2021, according to a new report published by the US Department of Homeland Security.

About 4.07 lakh H-1B visas were approved by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) during fiscal 2021. This figure is slightly lower as compared to the figure approved in the previous, which was 4.07 lakh. The important thing to note here is that Indians bagged more than 74% of the approved H-1B visas in both the years.

In 2021, 74.1% of the total approved H-1B visa applications belonged to Indians whereas this figure stood at 74.9% in the previous year. This means that 3.01 lakh Indians in 2021 and 3.19 lakh Indians in 2020 were the beneficiaries of the allotment.
