More Students to Study Abroad for Greater Employment Opportunities: Survey

A global survey conducted by INTO University Partnerships shows that most of the educational counsellors in India anticipate sending more students to universities abroad in countries like the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia in 2022-23 than they had sent in 2021-22.

93% of the agents look forward to sending more students to study in the UK in the coming academic year than in the previous one. Meantime, 87% await to send students to study in Canada, 71% to Australia and 92% to the USA.

The survey also noted that 82% of the global agents expect to help more students to study in the UK in the next academic year while 63% expect to send students to study in Australia, 65% to study in the US and 59% study in Canada.

In 2021, when the same survey was conducted by INTO, only 65% of the agents anticipated sending students to study in the UK, 27% in Australia, 44% in Canada and 34% in the US.

The survey claimed that 84% of agents disclosed that higher quality of education in foreign universities attract students to study abroad while 78% said that better study and employment prospect is a motivation behind studying in universities abroad. Also, 58% of agents noted that students wish to get international exposure by enrolling in abroad universities. More than 50% of the agents confirmed that post-study work opportunities drive students to study abroad.

From the survey, it is clear that employability is a driving force for study abroad aspirants. International students are keen to journey overseas to improve their employment opportunities. They also wish to get better returns on their investment and secure their future by studying programs that give a head start on their career.

Australia and UK are more favoured than the US by students because of their post-study work rights.
