UAE Eases Travel Curbs; Allows Indian Students to Enter Dubai

International students from India, South Africa and Nigeria can now travel to Dubai provided they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a UAE-approved vaccine. They must also meet travel protocols and certain other conditions.

UAE Eases Travel Curbs; Allows Indian Students to Enter Dubai

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently eased travel restrictions for passengers from India, South Africa and Nigeria starting June 23, 2021. International students from these countries who intend to travel to Dubai for higher education may now do so provided they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a UAE-approved vaccine. In additon, they might be required to meet the travel protocols and certain other conditions.

Students should have received two doses of a vaccine approved by the UAE. They must also show a negative RT-PCR test taken 48 hours prior to travel and undertake a second test once they have arrived in Dubai.

For travellers from Pakistan, travel restrictions will remain in place until July.

Spokesperson of Emirates airline has put out a statement saying it welcomes the latest measures announced by the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster management of Dubai. This will let them resume travel from these countries in a safe manner.

Emirates further added that travellers should meet the conditions as mentioned by the Supreme Committee in order to be allowed to board a flight.

It further thanked the Supreme Committee for its continuous efforts in tracking the COVID-19 situation and taking the necessary steps to protect and safeguard the travel sector.

Earlier, the airline had suspended certain groups of travellers boarding passenger flights from a number of countries. However, it did not include UAE nationals, those with UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions.
