In a bid to attract more and more international students to come study in New Zealand, Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland has announced a number of scholarship opportunities for Indian students.
As per a press release, Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland is Aotearoa’s leading university and has developed a range of scholarship packages for Indian students totalling around NZD 1.5 million.
According to the press release, the university will be offering more than 200 scholarships to high-achieving Indian students in 2023. Moreover, Waipapa Taumata Rau will be offering the scholarships biannually, “with 115 of the scholarships being offered twice a year”.
The press release further highlighted that during each cycle, the university will offer 5 scholarships worth NZD 20,000, 10 scholarships worth NZD 10,000 and 100 scholarships worth NZD 5,000.
The statement released by the Director International of the University of Auckland, Ainslie Moore, announced that the scholarship is a mutually beneficial move, further facilitating the influx of diversity and richness to the campuses. Subsequently, the international students will help play a major role in research and the wider New Zealand workforce as well.
Application for the scholarship, also known as the University of Auckland India High Achievers Scholarship, will be available from October 10, 2022 and students from both undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be able to apply.
