To revitalise the state's foreign education sector, the Western Australian (WA) government announced the launch of three programmes totalling AUD 16.8 million (about USD 11.3 million).
International Education Minister for Western Australia, David Templeman, maintains that the WA government must provide incentives to both international student agents and internationalaspirants. It should ultimately foster them to think about and eventually make a rational decision to study in Australia, especially in the Western Australian region.

He said that AUD 10 million would go toward an agent incentive scheme to advertise WA as the main contender for international students seeking thebest countries to study abroad.
The initiative will give the brokers compensation betweenAUD 500 to AUD 1,000 depending on whether a student enrols in a vocational training centre or atAustralian universities.
For qualifying full-time international students, the balance of AUD 6.8 million will be divided into two distinct grants. One will be for accommodation and the other will be for tuition. These one-time grants will each be worth AUD 1,500.

As per Templeman, the programmes supported the WA government's commitment to international education and were a part of the supplemental AUD 41.2 million in initiatives for that sector that were indicated in the 202223 state budget.
