Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) is a public MBBS university in Ukraine. Established on September 15, 1916, the university can trace its roots back to an order passed by Empress Catherine II in the year 1784. It acquired the State Medical University status in 1920 and came to be known as Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy in 1994. DSMA is one of the oldest and very prestigious medical institutions in Ukraine. DSMA holds the 113th rank in Ukrainian universities and 7372nd rank in the world. The university has the highest IV level of accreditation among all Ukrainian universities. It has received recognition from both, National Medical Council (NMC) and World Health Organization (WHO).

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The DSMA campus is located in a total area of 85 acres in the city of Dnipro, which is a large, beautiful city located in East-Central Ukraine. The campus is located close to the Dnieper river with the other buildings also located nearby, The university offers MD (MBBS), Clinical Ordinatura, 2-year Master Degree course as well as Advanced Courses in multiple streams. A total of 8 faculties are part of the university including various faculties for the different MBBS specializations offered by Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA). These include Medical, Dentistry, Pediatrics, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health etc. There is a special Faculty of Preparatory for Foreign Citizens available as well.

DSMA is a preferred name to study MBBS in Ukraine. The university has received awards and praises for its exceptional contribution to the medical research field. It is the only university in Ukraine providing training to students in all 7 faculties. There is a large number of award-winning professionals who are a part of the faculty at DSMA, including 9 State Prize winners, 9 honoured workers of Science & Technology, members of international scientific societies and associations etc. The university also has a rich family of alumni members and has produced around 49,000 doctors, dentists, nurses and pharmacists. It has also been conducting training of foreign nationals since as far back as 1990 and the first batch of foreign nationals graduated from the university in 1995. So far, the university has 1000+ foreign specialists from 30+ countries among its alumni.
