History, Affiliations & Rankings

Arkansas State University is a public university that was established as First District Agricultural School. Its first two-year course was offered in 1918, and it started offering a four-year degree program in 1930. In 1925, the school became the First District Agricultural and Mechanical College, and later on, in 1933 it became the Arkansas State College. But it was not until 1967 that the college was elevated to Arkansas State University. The institution is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association (NCA) of Colleges and Schools. This coed university is ranked  #293-#381 among the National Universities by US News and World Report 2020 Edition.

Situated in the North-East corner of the state, 70 miles from Memphis, Arkansas State University has a campus of 1367 acres, with 145 buildings. The main campus is situated in Jonesboro, Arkansas. It offers 160-degree programs including master’s programs in health and business. Online programs of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Postgraduate Degree are also offered by the university. The most sought after courses at Arkansas State University are Liberal Arts and Humanities, Nursing, Business, Biology, Criminology, Finance, Psychology, and Agricultural Business.
