The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a public college within City University of New York. It is located in Staten Island, New York. The College of Staten Island was founded by the merger in 1976 of Staten Island Community College (SICC), founded in 1956, and Richmond College, founded in 1965. It is 1 of the senior colleges within the CUNY system. The College of Staten Island CUNY is also accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The College of Staten Island is ranked 3rd in New York State by MONEY magazine for Best Colleges and also 6th in the Nation on College Net’s Social Mobility Index by the US News 2020 edition. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
 
CSI has a 204-acre spacious campus which is surrounded by a park-like landscape, and the campus is centrally located on Staten Island. The College of Staten Island CUNY has approximately more than 80 science labs which include the Center for Developmental Neuroscience and The CUNY Interdisciplinary High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC).CSI offers the Doctoral programs,  the Advanced Certificate programs, and also the  Master’s programs. It also has Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees. Popular majors include business, education, nursing, pre-medicine, music, and computer science. The general education program helps to discover how to connect and integrate among all the courses from the undergraduate studies.

Accomplishments & Alumni 
 
The College of Staten Island is a “Top Master’s University,” as was ranked by Washington Monthly, in the Top 15% for Alumni Salary Potential according to Payscale, and has also been named a Military Friendly School for 7 consecutive years by GI Jobs Magazine. The College is ranked 37th nationally in the 2017 SMI Ranking which measures and tells the upward economic mobility.
The main motive of the Alumni association is to promote and ensure a lifelong spirit of pride, fellowship, loyalty, and learning among alumni, students, and the community. The CSI Alumni Association has more than 67,000 members across the globe. The Association Board of Directors is a diverse, talented, successful and ambitious group of graduates who continue to volunteer their time and talent to the College after the completion of their course. The notable alumni are Joanne Bland, Justin Brannan, Kevin Sussman and many more.
 
Student Diversity & Visiting Companies
 
The College celebrates Pluralism as well as Diversity for the faculty, the staff and the students by facilitating an inclusive diversity program that provides opportunities for engagement and learning. The motive of the Pluralism & Diversity Program focuses on representing ethnic, religious, and cultural groups through various events and programs on campus. With almost 2.6% international students, the ongoing goal of the university is to celebrate diversity and also encourage an urge for a unified campus. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 12,211. There are 23% more female students than male students. The gender ratio of 55% women to 45% men is at the college.

The companies come and organize events and job fairs for the students. The companies have to send the mail for taking the permission to organize any event. Top recruiters include Walmart, Walgreens, Xerox, CVS Health, American Express and many more.
