Full Sail University is a private, for-profit university established in 1979 in Dayton, Ohio. Earlier, it used to be a recording studio by the name ‘Full Sail Centre for the Recording Arts’ and ‘Full Sail Productions’. Presently, the university is situated in Winter Park, Florida. In 2007, the university began running courses on film and video production. Full Sail University is licensed by the Department of Education and has accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges to award bachelor's, master's and associate’s degrees in computer animation,  audio, design, business and many more courses. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The Full Sail University campus is stretched across approximately 200 acres of land. From game studios to film sets, from boardrooms to classrooms, everything has been designed to give students an industry production-like environment. This unique approach helps prepare students for the entertainment and media world that they will be joining after graduation. The education provided at the university is fast and focused. The accelerated pace of the courses at Full Sail University allows students to graduate in half the time of a traditional degree programme. The programmes here contain more credit hours per month in comparison to other traditional universities. 

Accomplishments & Alumni 

Full Sail University has a long list of notable alumni. University graduates have been working across the entertainment and media industry for four decades. The graduates do not only work on influential movies, iconic albums, blockbuster games and top-grossing world tours but also develop software and hardware, design and conceptualise events and ad campaigns. The Full Sail grads have worked on Oscar-Nominated films as animators, creative directors and some of them have also turned entrepreneurs and started their own businesses.

The International Student Society (ISS) at Full Sail is a diverse and cultural social group that serves as a support system for international students and promotes multiculturalism on campus by giving students the opportunity to celebrate each other’s cultures and traditions. The curriculum of the programmes at Full Sail University is project-based that provides hands-on opportunities to its students. This offers students real-world experience in a professional environment. Full Sail University, Winter Park, USA Scholarship

Academic Advance Scholarship

  • For UG, students will receive the award in the consecutive years provided their cumulative GPA is 2.5 or more.
  • For PG, students earning a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher will receive the award in the consecutive years.
  • Applicants who are enrolled in a Full Sail campus degree programme.

Eligibility:

For UG

  • Secure a cumulative GPA score of 2.5 or more on a scale of 4.0 in their secondary or post-secondary education;
  • Have an SAT score of 840 or higher;
  • Have an SAT score of 1120, secured prior to 2016;
  • Have an ACT score of 17 or higher.

For PG

  • Secured a cumulative GPA score of 3.0 or higher on a scale of 4.0 in their secondary or post-secondary education;
  • Have an SAT score of 927 or higher;
  • Have an SAT Score of 1250 secured prior to 2016;
  • Have an ACT score of 19 or higher.

Amount: Up to US$15,000

The Full Sail Alumni Scholarship

  • The Full Sail Alumni Scholarship is aimed at encouraging the current and future generations of media and entertainment professionals.
  • Applicants applying for this scholarship must be Full Sail graduates and must apply to a Full Sail campus degree.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants should have received a minimum overall grade of B or higher in the previous Full Sail course.
  • Applicants should have graduated or will graduate from the previous Full Sail campus degree with good academic and financial standing.
  • Applicants should display exceptional skill and dedication to the field of media and industry.

Amount: Up to US$3,000

Emerging Technology Scholarship

  • Applicants will go through 3 rounds of selection, where eligible candidates will first be asked to provide an original project along with a screencast.
  • Selected candidates will then be asked to participate in a problem-solving competition. The scholarships will then be awarded based on the predetermined criteria.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be high school graduates.
  • They must also meet the necessary admission eligibility criteria for a Bachelor in Science degree in Computer Science / Cybersecurity / Game Development / Information Technology / Mobile Development / Web Development / Simulation and VIsualisation;
  • They must have secured a high school GPA of 3.8 or higher.
  • Submit the original project with screencast as outlined by the university.

Amount: Full Scholarship including tuition and a laptop

STEM Scholarship

For the scholarship, the applicants will be required to sit for an interview with an Admissions Representative. Therefore, all applicants should meet the basic admission criteria for a STEM course at the university.

Eligibility:

  • Only non-resident or Non-US citizen candidates are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Candidates are to submit a 250-word essay on “How My Full Sail Education Will Prepare Me for a STEM career” before the first day of the class.

Amount: Up to US$5,000 to the tuition fee of the Full Sail Campus Degree in STEM

Women in Technology

  • Candidates interested in the scholarship must submit an original project of theirs.
  • Candidates will go through 3 rounds of selection, where eligible candidates will first be required to submit the original project. 
  • Selected candidates will then be asked to sit for a problem-solving competition. Scholarships will be awarded based on predetermined parameters.

Eligibility:

  • All candidates should be a high school graduate, identifying themselves as a female.
  • Aspirants should also meet the basic requirement for a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science / Game Development / Cybersecurity / Information Technology / Simulation and Visualisation and Web Development / Mobile Development.
  • They should have secured a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8.
  • Candidates need to submit an original project along with a screencast according to the guidelines specified by the university.

Amount: Full Scholarships including the tuition fee and a laptop
