Manhattan College is a catholic private college located in The Bronx which is 35 minutes from  Manhattan, New York. Founded in 1853, the  Manhattan College is one of the oldest and well-established colleges in New York. Over the years, the college has evolved as an educational provider and managed to be among the tops ranked colleges in the United States. Manhattan College is a Lasallian Catholic institution that believes in dignity and respect for every human being. Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Manhattan College has a beautiful campus located away from the city in a serene and tranquil environment. However, it borders New York City and is just 35 minutes away from the city. The campus expands across an area of 23 acres and has all the necessary facilities needed for an amazing experience for students. Three new buildings have been constructed on the campus in the 21st century to meet the latest requirements and campus facilities have been modernised. Manhattan College has six Schools to offer courses in the field of Engineering, Science, Liberal Arts, Business Studies, Education & Health and  Continuing and Professional Studies.

The institution has around 4,000 students enrolled in more than 100-degree programmes at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. The student and faculty ratio at Manhattan College is 12:1 and the Average Class Size of Manhattan College is 23. The opportunities for students at Manhattan College is remarkable. COVID-19 Response 

  • Manhattan College has decided to continue offering remote learning and all classes will resume online from March 2021. 

  • The College is open to students and employees with all the safest measures and the college will be regularly monitoring the health conditions of all members of the college.

  • International students who cannot travel home are allowed to stay in the residence hall with all safety precautions and guidelines. Students visiting campus or staying in the residence hall will have to take part in regular testing every 14 days.

  •  College-sponsored student domestic and international travel remain suspended until further notice.

  • Members of the Manhattan College community who have travelled internationally within the last 30 days are required to undergo self-isolation for a  minimum of 14 days, complete the confidential health form before your return and contact the health provider for additional instructions

Manhattan College Scholarship for International Students

 

Manhattan College, New York awards scholarship to international students who are enrolled in undergraduate degree programmes at Manhattan College, New York. The scholarship is offered to help outstanding students pay the tuition fee for the course they are enrolled in.

Value: The scholarship amount ranges between  $30,000 to  $6,000 per year. 

Eligibility 

The minimum eligibility criteria to receive the Manhattan College Scholarship is as follows:

  • Must be an international student. 

  • Must have an offer letter for an undergraduate degree program at Manhattan College.

  • Must have a strong academic background.

  • Must demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities, projects undertaken in past, internships done, social involvements etc. 

Application Process 

There is no separate application for scholarships. Based on academic background and achievements, students are automatically considered for scholarships. The application submitted for admission is considered to award a scholarship. 

Manhattan College Merit-Based Scholarship

Several scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate extraordinary achievements. These are highly competitive scholarships and are offered to only deserving candidates who are enrolled in an undergraduate course of study at Manhattan College. Various factors that are considered to provide merit-based scholarship is as follows:

  • SAT or ACT scores

  • Grade Point Average

  • Volunteer and Community Involvement

  •  extra-curricular accomplishments

  • Class rank

List of Merit-based Scholarship

The list of merit-based scholarship is as follows:

  • Trustee Scholarship: Awarded to highly qualified students who are listed in the top 5% of the Manhattan College applicants.

  • Presidential Scholarships: Awarded to highly qualified students who are listed in the top 15% of the Manhattan College applicants. The candidate is invited to join the Honors Enrichment Program.

  • Dean's Awards: Awarded to highly qualified students who are listed in the top 25% of the Manhattan College applicants.

  • Chancellor’s Awards/  Provost Award:  Awarded to students with outstanding academic performance, leadership abilities and involvement in extracurricular activities.

  • Liberal Arts Award: It is awarded based on academic achievement, financial need of students enrolled in the School of Liberal Arts only.

  • Business Scholars Award:  It is awarded based on academic achievement, financial need of students enrolled in School of Business only.

  • Engineering Award: It is awarded based on academic achievement, financial need of students enrolled in the School of Engineering only.

  • Education Award:  It is awarded based on academic achievement, financial need of students enrolled in the School of Education and Health only.

  • Science Scholars Award: It is awarded based on academic achievement, financial need of students enrolled in the School of Science only.

Benefits of Merit-Based Scholarship

Students who receive the scholarship are eligible to receive financial aid for up to 4 years of undergraduate studies. The student must attain12 credits at Manhattan College and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA for scholarship renewal.
