Oakland University was founded in 1957 by Alfred and Matilda Dodge Wilson with the aim to establish a satellite school in Oakland. Today, the university is recognised as the student-centred university research institute and it holds global recognition. The university is located in the heart of Oakland County and it is the centre attraction for higher education for both domestic and international students. It is a public institution that provides a distinct educational platform for students to engage in education and research. The university offers flexible classroom programmes, technology-driven learning and research opportunities. It has the best state-of-the-art facilities, student services, research labs and corporate partners. Oakland University is the only university among 186 business schools to earn AACSB international accreditation for accounting and business programmes. Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The university campus is situated north of Detroit at the centre of Oakland County and spreads across an area of 1433 acres. The campus houses 50 major buildings that include seven residence halls, two complexes, an athletic dome, a state of the art recreation centre, OU Art Gallery, Meadow Brook Theatre, Meadow Brook Hall and Amphitheatre. Presently, the university offers 146 bachelors degree programmes and 130 master’s, doctoral and certificate courses.
