SUNY Albany, Public Research University in New York, has three campuses - Albany, Rensselaer and Guilder town in the United States. Established in 1844, as a part of the State of New York system is ranked #147 as the best college in National ranking by the top university ranking agency in the States US news ranking. The institution is also known as SUNY Albany, University of Albany or UAlbany. Having a very high research output, the institution is ranked at 701-750 QS Global World Ranking 2020. Times Higher Education ranks it at 351400th in World University Rankings 2020 and 196th in US Rankings 2020.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

University Infrastructure is majorly divided into three-part Uptown Campus located in Albany is the main campus where all the classes for the major program go on. The second campus is the Downtown campus, near capitol building and Empire State Plaza houses College of Public Affairs and Policy, School of Social Welfare, School of Criminal Justice, College of Computing and Information. The Health Science Campus is located in Rensselaer where the School of Public health and cancer research center has been functional since 2005. The institution has separate buildings and facilities for management for recreation and sports such as Campus Center, Performing Art Center, University Art Museum, SEFCU Arena and Athletic complex.
With around 17,944 students enrolled for more than 50 undergraduate majors and 125 graduate degree programs. SUNY Albany offers exclusive programs in East Asian Studies, Documentary Studies, Nanoscale Science and Engineering, NYS Writers Institute. The popular majors are Biology, Business/Accounting, Communication, and Criminal Justice.

Accomplishments & Alumni

SUNY Albany faculty's research expenditure in 2016-17 surpassed USD 100 million. Major researches are conducted in majorly four areas namely social Science, Public Policy, life sciences, and atmospheric sciences. With state of the art research centers such as Cancer Research Center, Atmospheric Sciences Research Center, Northeast Regional Forensics Institute, The Center for Social and Demographic Analysis, the RNA Institute makes UAlbany as among top research institute in the state
SUNY Albany has a tradition of producing eminent scholars, writers, faculties, and scientists who have won awards and prizes at international and national levels. Joachim Frank won Nobel Prize in 2017 for his work in the field of Chemistry. Pulitzer Prize Winner William Kennedy, Gay right champion Harvey Milk and Robert J. Sampson are some of the few Alumni's of UAlbany

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

Students from across 90 nations study at the undergraduate level in the university with almost equal gender diversity with 52% men and 48% women. With seven percent Asians at the campus, the student body has 4% international students pursuing various courses.
UAlbany organizes career fairs for graduating students and more than 50+ companies participate in the fair to provide jobs to the students. Few top companies are Citrix, CVS health, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Metlife, PwC and many more.
