Merit Scholarship

Merit based scholarship is offered to undergraduate first year students. Students who apply for admission at the University of Dayton are automatically considered for merit scholarships. There is no application fee for the same. 

The value of scholarship can go up to $29,000 per year. Some of the merit scholarships at UD are as follows: 

  • Father Chaminade Award- $62,000 To $74,000

  • Deans' Merit Scholarship- $80,000 To $90,000

  • President's Merit Scholarship- $95,000 To $105,000

  • Trustees' Merit Scholarship- $110,000 To $121,000

Textbook Scholarship

Candidates may be eligible for a $4,000 scholarship over four years to cover the expenses on textbooks. 
 

You are Welcome Here Scholarships

To support international students applying to UD, the university is offering #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarships that encourage students from across the world to study in the US. Under this, two scholarships will be granted and each scholarship will cover at least half of the student’s annual tuition. The award can be renewed every year. Eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Must have a first-year international applicant who holds citizenship in a country outside the US.
  • Must have interest and personal initiative in activities based on intercultural learning and exchange.
  • Must have completed the scholarship application along with a 500-1,000 word essay or a 2-5 minute video stating projects or research to advance intercultural learning.  
     

National Merit- UD Sponsored

National Merit Scholarships are awarded to National Merit Finalists who choose the Univesity of Dayton as their first-choice school. The value of the scholarship may range between $1,000 and $2,000 every year based on the students' need.
