The University of Kentucky (UK) was founded by John Bryan Bowman in 1865 as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky and is located in Lexington, Kentucky. The University of Kentucky has achieved accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to grant Associate's, Bachelor's, Masters and Doctoral Degrees. UK has been ranked 1st for its HealthCare Chandler Hospital in Kentucky and the Bluegrass region by U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals Rankings, 3rd for College of Arts and Sciences, PhD in Clinical Psychology by Faculty Scholarly Activity Index and 4th for Martin School of Public Policy and Administration, public finance and budgeting program by US News and hold several high ranks for various other programs. The University has been ranked at 601-650 QS Global World Ranking 2020.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The University of Kentucky invests a lot in infrastructure which can be determined by the fact that they recently invested $256 million in the multidisciplinary research building. The University of Kentucky’s campus provides students with seven main dining facilities, 23 residence halls, and various recreation facilities spread across three distinct campuses namely north campus, south campus, and central campus which is also the home to more than 240 student-run organisations. Moreover, the institution has 16 colleges, which include a graduate school, 93 undergraduate programmes, 99 master programmes, 66 doctoral programmes, and four professional programmes and a total of 15 libraries that are spread across the campus. The university has been featured in the QS rankings 2020 for its courses in Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Geography, Linguistics, Agriculture and Forestry.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

Regularly listed in many "top" or "best of" categories by national publications or organisations, The University of Kentucky has continued the expansion of a $1 billion health care facility which emerged in 2004 and the trend in recent years shows that their expenditures are increasingly focused on research. With a cross country national team championship (women's, 1988), eight individual championships in gymnastics, an Olympic medalist in track and field, and 21 national championships in cheerleading, UK surely leads the way with their most recent achievement coming in 2012 when the Men’s Basketball Team won its eighth National Title. The university in total has offered education to over 3,58,102 students which include alumni from across the world. Some of the well-known alumni include Nobel laureates Dr Thomas Hunt Morgan; William Lipscomb, actors Miss Elizabeth and Ashley Judd and Senator Mitch McConnell.

A total of 1,119 international students shows the intent of the university which always strives for a diverse international student population with of course a selective admissions process. The major Industrial Partners which provide internship and employment opportunities to students are Intel, Deloitte, ODDS, Trinsoft, Lexmark, Opentext, DeanDorton Technology and many more.
