A year after the University of Rochester was founded, they adopted a motto “Meliora” which stands for “ever better”. Following the motto, the University strives to become better and ensure that its students are the best versions of themselves. This can be proven by the many recognitions and rankings that it has received over the years. The University of Rochester has been ranked 173rd University in International Category by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 166th World University by QS Top Universities.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The campus of the University of Rochester has been divided into different sections. The River Side Campus is the main campus with buildings dedicated to different schools of education. The University also has a Medical Centre, which is located adjacent to the River Side Campus. The centre holds the School of Dentistry and Medicine as well as provide intensive patient care. The other two campuses, i.e. Mid Campus and South Campus. In the buildings and halls that are strewn across the town, students can pursue over 200 programmes, including minors and majors in disciplines such as Arts, Sciences & Applied Sciences, Engineering, Music, Medicine and Dentistry, Nursing, Business and Education.

Accomplishments and Alumni

Since its inception, there have been a number of notable alumni who have contributed to society in their own manner. Many became an essential part of the wide network of the University of Rochester, where students and alumni alike can find their future path. Among the notable Accomplishments, many of the alumni have gone on to become Nobel laureates in different areas. Some of the recent laureates include Paul Romer (in Economic Sciences), Donna Strickland and Gerard Monroe for their work in Physics.
