How to Crack SSC CHSL 2025 Tier 1 Exam on First Attempt?

We have provided the preparation tips for SSC CHSL tier 1 exam, following which, the candidates will be able to qualify the exam in the first go:-

  • Target 150 marks for the exam - Due to the rising cutoff, it is recommended to aim for 150 marks out of 200 to secure a seat. Setting such a goal will help the candidate focus their preparation and avoid last-minute pain.

  • Practice previous year question papers and mock tests regularly - Regular practice of sectional mock tests enables candidates to identify weak areas, manage time effectively, and reduce pressure during the actual exam. The speaker emphasises practising the hardest mocks from recent years and analysing mistakes thoroughly to avoid repeating them.

  • For mathematics, revise one chapter daily for 30-40 minutes, focusing on types of questions, formulas, and practising 60-70 questions per chapter from recent years. Also, maintain short notes for formulas to revise daily.

  • For Reasoning, cover the basics of all syllabus chapters, especially tough topics, through daily sectional mocks and focused practice of 25 questions covering different reasoning chains.

  • For GK/ GS, set a realistic target (20-25 marks), focus on Indian geography, history, polity, economics, and static GK topics, and use topic-wise current affairs rather than exhaustive monthly compilations for efficient preparation.

In conclusion, understanding the topic-wise weightage for the SSC CHSL 2025 Tier 1 exam is crucial for efficient preparation. Candidates should prioritise topics based on their weightage, focusing more on areas with higher marks while ensuring balanced preparation across all sections. To maximise their chances of success in the first attempt, it’s essential to practice consistently with previous year’s question papers, mock tests, and sectional quizzes. Aiming for a target score of 150 marks out of 200, revising core concepts regularly, and maintaining focused practice in areas like Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness will help boost performance. With strategic planning, diligent practice, and effective time management, candidates can significantly improve their chances of cracking the exam on their first try.
