Changes introduced in COMEDK 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates intending to take the COMEDK UGET 2026 should note some of the key changes introduced this year in eligibility and result rules:
New Subject Options Introduced:Candidates had to study Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English in Class 12 till 2025. Starting from COMEDK UGET 2026 onwards, the study of Chemistry has been made non-compulsory. Hence, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, or Electronics can be chosen instead of Chemistry, along with Physics and Mathematics.
English Compulsory:English must be a compulsory subject in the qualifying examination.
Compulsory Pass in All Subjects:The candidate has to clear each subject separately in the Class 12 qualifying examination. This applies to all the subjects, including optional and additional subjects.
Zero Score Without Rank:Candidates getting zero marks (0) in the COMEDK UGET 2026 examination will not be given any Rank and hence will not be eligible for participating in the counselling and admission process.
These changes have been proposed with an aim to broaden the eligibility, ensuring academic readiness and fairness in ranking for aspirants of COMEDK UGET 2026. The candidates are supposed to go through the revised eligibility criteria carefully before applying. The Application process will start from February 3, 2026.
