NIFT Entrance Exam 2026 Official Website Launched: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated NIFT 2026 official portal, indicating that the application form is expected to be released very soon, most likely in the last week of November or the first week of December 2025 . With the registration window usually lasting only a few weeks, applicants should begin arranging their documents and reviewing eligibility requirements now so they can submit the form well before the early-January deadline. Last year’s registrations opened in late November, closed in early January, and the written exam was held in the second week of February. Based on this pattern, candidates can expect a similar schedule for 2026, so planning study time for the General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT) from January onward will be helpful.
Eligibility for NIFT is simple. For undergraduate courses like B.Des and B.F.Tech candidates must have passed Class 12 and be under 24 years old. For postgraduate courses such as M.Des, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M, a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university is required, and there is no upper age limit. The application fee is expected to remain around Rs 3,000 for most categories and Rs 1,500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates, with a late-fee option available for a short period in January for those who miss the regular deadline.
The NIFT exam consists of two components: the online GAT, which tests reasoning, language, and numerical skills, and the offline CAT, which evaluates creativity and drawing ability. After the written exam, shortlisted students move on to the Situation Test and Personal Interview. With the 2026 portal now live, the admission cycle is about to begin, making this the ideal time for candidates to organise their preparation and stay alert for the release of the application form.
