AILET LLM 2024 Exam Pattern (Modified)

As mentioned earlier, the university has implemented changes to the examination format for the AILET PG Exam 2024. The revised pattern for the Master of Law (LLM) paper is outlined as follows:

AILET LLM 2024 Tie-Breaking Procedure

The following process would be utilised in compiling the final merit list if two aspirants had identical scores on the All India Law Entrance Test for PG programmes.

  • Older contenders will be given a higher priority.
  • If scores are still the same, officials will use an automated random draw to determine who makes it to the higher rank in the merit list.

What is the AILET 2023 LLM question format?

The AILET LLM question paper has objective and subjective questions, with fifty MCQs plus ten subjective queries. Knowing the test format will provide the candidate with a firm understanding of the structure of the questions paper, the quantity of questions, how many sections, the marking scheme, and other critical details.

 

How many sections does Part A have of the AILET 2023 LLM exam pattern?

The paper pattern for the Master of Law (LLM) will be divided into two sections: Section A and Section B. Section A is separated into two parts - English Grammar and Legal Reasoning. Part A has 50 multiple choice queries valued total 75 marks.

How many total questions do the aspirants have to attempt in the Section B of the AILET 2023 LLM exam pattern?

Section B is composed of eight to ten subjective questions from a variety of legal areas. Aspirants will however, only be asked to respond to two descriptive questions. Applicants will have 90 minutes to complete both portions.

What is the marking pattern of the AILET 2023 LLM Part A?

Section A will include 25 English Language questions and 25 Legal Reasoning questions. Each correct answer in the English section is worth one mark, and each correct answer in the Legal Reasoning section is worth two marks. For each inaccurately answered question in Section A, 0.25 points will be subtracted.

How will a tie-breaker situation be handled in AILET 2023 LLM?

Older applicants are given priority in a tie-breaker situation in AILET 2023 LLM. A random draw is then done to assemble the merit list if the age factor does not resolve the problem.

 

What are the major topics of the AILET LLM 2023 of Section B?

Section B of the AILET LLM 2023 constitutes major topics like Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Tax Law, Law of Contracts, Environmental Law, Labour Law, Family Law, Property Law, Company Law, Industrial Law, Jurisprudence, Criminal Law, International Law, etc.

 

How is the final rank list of the AILET LLM 2023 prepared?

The final rank list will be compiled using the cumulative marks from Sections A and B. To be considered for Section B, candidates must first score at least 50% on both Part-1 and Part-2 of Section-A. There will be ten questions covering various areas of law in Part B, two of which must be answered by the test aspirants.

 

Is AILET tougher than CLAT?

Considering the number of candidates applying for AILET and CLAT, we can say that AILET is a bit tougher than CLAT. Furthermore, new changes to CLAT have made it easier than AILET. NLU Delhi administers the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) for entry to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctorate (PhD) level law programmes. This is a national-level entrance test for enrollment in law courses only at NLU Delhi. 

What are the topics asked in the AILET LL.M exam?

The AILET BA LL.B exam currently consists of three sections rather than five. This is due to the removal of the Legal Aptitude and Elementary Mathematics sections from the AILET BA LLB 2022 test paper. Whereas AILET LL.M is divided into two sections, Section A and Section B. The topics that are a part of the AILET Section A are English Language and Legal Reasoning. Section B consists of Subjects of Law that cover Constitutional Law Administrative Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, Labour Law, Family Law, Property Law, Company Law, Industrial Law, Jurisprudence, Law of Contracts, Criminal Law and International Law.

What changes have been made to the AILET syllabus?

AILET LL.M syllabus went through a change. Section A and Section B are divided into two parts where Section A consists of multiple-choice questions, whereas Section B includes a descriptive part. Section A is divided into two parts: Part A - English language (25 questions with 25 marks) and Part B - Legal reasoning (25 questions with 50 marks). Section B includes 8 to 10 questions from various areas of law and candidates must answer two questions out of them (25 marks each). Candidates will be shortlisted for Section B based on the marks scored by them in Section A. the final merit rank will be based on the marks obtained by them in Section A and Section B.

It is mandatory for an individual to qualify an LLB degree before pursuing an LLM programme. You cannot consider LLM until you have completed the Bachelor of Laws. The duration of an LLB programme in Shah Khimchandbhai Muljibhai Law College is 3 years.
