CBSE Class 12 Computer Science Weightage 2026 : The CBSE 12th Computer Science exam is divided into a 70-mark theory paper and a 30-mark practical examination, making a total of 100 marks. The theory exam is divided into 3 main units: Computational Thinking and Programming-2 worth 40 marks, Computer Networks of 10 marks, and Database Management of 20 marks. The weightage for the practical exam comprises a Lab Test of 12 marks, Report File and Viva  of 10 marks, and a Project of 8 marks.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has implemented some changes in CBSE Class 12 Computer Science Exam Pattern 2026 . There will be more competency-based questions, with a significant portion being case-based and source-based, assessing conceptual understanding rather than memorization. There will be 50% competency-based questions, with a significant emphasis on MCQs, case-based, and source-based questions. Remaining 20% and 30% will be MCQs and constructed response questions, which will include short-answer and long-answer questions. CBSE Class 12 Computer Science Question Paper Blueprint 2026

The CBSE Class 12 Computer Science question paper has 5 sections (A, B, C, and D). A total of 37 questions will be there in the question paper and the maximum marks will be 70 marks. The question paper consists of MCQs, very short answer type, short answer type, and long answer questions. All programming questions are to be answered using the Python Language only.
