Hostel:

Decent hostel facilities are available at the AKU Indore campus for boys. The hostel accommodates 150 students and provides all the required facilities, including food. However, the university should expand its residential facilities for female students as well.

The university has a conference hall and many seminar halls equipped with multimedia facilities. The seating capacity of the seminar halls is 300, and that of the conference hall is 50. 

Library:

AKU library has a large collection of books and journals, around 44,321. The library has a reading room facility with high-speed internet. Moreover, students can borrow books from reference, lending and book bank sections as per their guidelines. 

Internet:

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University Indore campus has an internet facility with a speed of 5 Mbps. Students can access the internet facility through Wi-Fi. 

Transportation:

AKU runs 30 buses, covering adjacent areas such as Indore, Dewas, Mhow and Pithampur. This facility is helpful for students who travel from distant places to the university. 

Activities:

The university hosts annual events and convocation ceremonies for fresh batches. Some of the AKU events are the annual youth festival ‘Aarohan’, National Pharmacy Week Fest, and the Inter College Pharmacy Cricket Tournament. Apart from this, other extracurricular activities and sports events are held from time to time. 

Cafeteria/ Hangout:

AKU Indore has a spacious canteen that provides quality food at reasonable prices. Along with that, a central cafeteria, mini cafes and fast food centres are available in various academic blocks of the campus. However, there are very few hangout places near the campus as it is located on the outskirts of Indore city.

Our Take:

Overall, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University has a well-built infrastructure and provides ample facilities to the students. The laboratories and seminar halls are outfitted with ICT facilities, and Wi-Fi can be accessed across the campus. The transportation and hostel facilities are beneficial for out-station students. However, residential facilities are not available for women, which is a point of concern. Along with that, fewer hang-out places are around the campus to explore for students.

It clearly shows that they are running the university smoothly and efficiently. However, as per our research, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University lacks in providing ample public records for reference. Due to this, a blurred image of the university can form between students. The administration should focus on releasing annual reports with clear information regarding the university.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University is located at Indore-Dewas Bypass Road, Village-Arandia, P.O. Jhalaria, Indore. AKU campus is situated a little away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet enjoys convenient access to transportation hubs. 

• The closest airport, Devi Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport, is approximately 31.6 km away from the campus. 
• Likewise, the nearest railway station, Indore Junction Railway Station, lies at a distance of about 13.3 km.

As a new university, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University has created quite a name for itself. It has sufficient infrastructure and facilities, a variety of courses, and ample exposure opportunities to offer students. The fee structure seems affordable for middle-class students, as it ranges between INR 1,00,000 to 4,00,000 for popular courses.
