Delhi University conducted Joint Admission Test (DU JAT) 2016, the entrance test for its management programmes on June 20, 2016 for admission to three premier undergraduate courses viz.,
- Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)
- Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Investment and Analysis (BBA-FIA)
- Bachelor of Business Economics (BBE in the colleges affiliated to the University
For the students of Delhi NCR in UG segment, it is one of the most sought after BBA entrance examination of 2016. The following colleges offer these three programmes:

As expected DU JAT 2016 exam comprised of four sections:
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning and Analytical Ability
- General English
- Business and General Awareness
The total number of questions was 120 (30 in each section). Every correct answer will fetch you three marks but for each wrong answer, we will be penalised by 1 mark. Duration of the test was 120 minutes. Each of the four sections had equal weightage.

The difficulty level of 2016 DU JAT paper was moderate, though some felt it was on the higher side. This time, the paper was quite tricky and time taking. A majority of the students found it difficult to attempt more than 80 questions. Hence, an attempt of 80 questions with about 90% accuracy should be a safe attempt.
Section-wise Analysis of DU JAT 2016 Exam:
Quantitative Aptitude
This was the most difficult section of all. Majority of questions were from higher Mathematics. The section had a good mix of questions from areas like Set Theory, Relation and Function, Limits, Coordinate Geometry, Vector, Geometry, Matrices and Determinants, Sequence and series, Probability, Binomial Theorem, Logarithm, Trigonometry, Permutation and combination, Average, Equation /Inequality, Time and work.
General Knowledge
This section was quite difficult. This section comprised of General Awareness questions from areas mainly on Business & Economics, Politics, Awards & Honours, Sports, Books & Authors etc. The section was dominated by business related GK questions. An attempt of 12-14 questions with about more than 80% accuracy should be considered good.
Logical and Analytical Ability
The Logical Reasoning section questions were of a moderate level of difficulty. The section had more Analytical Reasoning questions than Verbal Reasoning questions. The questions were mostly from Seating Arrangement, coding-decoding, cubes, series, clock & calendar, syllogism, statement and conclusion, statement and assumption, analogies etc. An attempt of 20 plus should be considered a good attempt.
General English
The difficulty level of questions on this section was also easy to moderate. Questions were on Reading Comprehension, Synonyms, Para-jumbles, Fill in the blanks, Word meaning, Vocab, and Idioms-Phrases. There was only one reading comprehension passage which of medium size with a total of 5 questions. The passage was not big. The RC questions were direct in nature. Questions on Vocabulary and Idioms were manageable. There were 5 questions from para jumbled and 5 questions on Fill in the Blanks. In this section, an attempt of 20 plus will be considered good.
Overall, the difficulty level of the DU JAT paper 2016 was higher than the last few years' papers, and an attempt of 75-80 questions with an overall accuracy of 80-90%, should be considered good.
Cut Off's for DU JAT Exam 2016
DU JAT 2016 for BMS does have a minimum score that works as cut-off. It is estimated a safe score should be between 200 and 2200 to get a call.
Selection Procedure Basis DU JAT 2016
DU JAT is conducted for admission to BBA (FIA), BMS and BA (H) Business Economics programmes. Candidates are selected for admission based on two criteria:
- JAT 2016 performance
- Performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview
The weightage of the Entrance examination and Interview, Group discussion (GD) is as follows:
- 85% for the Entrance test
- 15% for the GD and Interview
This will be applicable to all three courses. For 2016, there is no weightage for your class XII marks.
