GATE CE 2026: Exam Date, Syllabus, Question Paper, Answer Key, Response Sheet

GATE CE 2026 Exam Date is February 14, 2026 . IIT Guwahati will conduct the CE paper in two separate sessions: CE 1 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and CE 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, due to higher number of registrations. Both shifts follow the GATE CE syllabus and exam pattern. Exam takers are allocated either CE-1 or CE-2 automatically. They can confirm this information after downloading their GATE admit card .

The GATE CE syllabus and question paper have two sections: General Aptitude consisting of 15 marks and the core subject carrying 85 marks, making a total of 100 marks. In the subject part, 13 marks are reserved for the Engineering Mathematics section. Besides this segment, there are 6 other areas such as Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and Geomatics Engineering.

The GATE CE question paper has a mix of MCQs, MSQs, and NAT questions. Negative marking is only for MCQs and will be available within a few days after the exam, along with the answer key and response sheet. By cross-checking their responses, aspirants can estimate their scores before the official GATE results are out.

The GATE CE paper has seen the highest score of 80-90 marks over the last few years. Last year, around 101596 students registered for the exam, out of which about 79951 appeared in the entrance test, and only 15108 qualified. GATE CE 2026 Question Paper

IIT Guwahati will be releasing the GATE 2026 question paper a few days after the conclusion of the exam. The exam difficulty level of the GATE CE exam varied from easy to moderate. GATE CE 2026 Answer Key

The GATE answer key 2026 will be issued a couple of days after the exam on the official website of IIT Guwahati. The answer key will be helpful in getting an idea about the marks that you might secure in the exam. The authority will be releasing the GATE 2026 answer key in a PDF format. Firstly, IIT Guwahati will release the provisional answer key, which will be available for objections. A few days after receiving the objections, the final key will be out.
