Candidates who appeared in the exam can check their GATE result 2022 on the official website of IIT Kharagpur - gate.iitkgp.ac.in. How to Check GATE Result 2022?

IIT KGP has released the GATE 2022 result in online mode. The qualifying GATE cutoff will be mentioned along with the marks secured and candidate details. Given below steps can be followed by candidates to check their GATE results- 

Step 1 - Go to the GOAPS portal 

Step 2 - Login using the GATE registration ID/email address/enrollment ID and password

Step 3 - Click on the link ‘GATE result 2022’

Step 4 - GATE 2022 result will appear on the screen

Step 5 - Download and save the result for future reference

Use of GATE Result 2022

Based on the GATE results, candidates can apply for admission in M.Tech courses and PSUs recruitment. After the GATE result declaration, IIT Kharagpur will release the scorecard shortly on the GOAPS portal. 

How are marks calculated in GATE 2022 Result?

Once the answers are evaluated, the raw (actual) marks obtained by a candidate are considered for computing the GATE score. Whereas, for multi-session papers, the raw marks of candidates are converted to normalized marks for that particular subject. Henceforth, the raw marks (for single session papers) or normalized marks (for multi-session papers) are used for computing the GATE score 2022.

Normalization Process for GATE Exam Result 2022 

Since the GATE 2022 exam is conducted in multi-session, the normalization process is used to take into account any variation in the question papers' difficulty levels across different sessions. The normalization is done by authorities on the basis of the fundamental assumption that "in all multi-session GATE papers, the distribution of abilities of candidates is the same".

Qualifying Cutoff for GATE 2022

Cutoff marks of GATE 2022 simply refer to the minimum marks that are required by a candidate for further admission rounds. Along with the GATE result 2022, the authorities will also release the cutoff marks. After the declaration of GATE result 2022, qualified candidates will be able to download the GATE scorecard 2022 by login in through GOAPS. The GATE 2022 scorecard will be available on March 21, 2022, in online mode.
