The score obtained after the calculation shall be considered. Below is the formula for calculating the GATE 2026 marks, where ‘M’ stands for the marks the student has scored, ‘Mq’ is the general category qualifying marks obtained, and ‘M1’ is the top 0.1% of the applicant's marks obtained appeared in the examination. ‘Sq’ is the mark assigned to ‘Mq’ i.e. 350. St is the score assigned to ‘Mt’ i.e. 900.

The GATE exam authority does not have any limitations regarding the number of attempts that you can make for admission to IITs.
