The score obtained after the calculation shall be considered. Below is the formula for calculating the GATE 2026 marks, where ‘M’ stands for the marks the student has scored, ‘Mq’ is the general category qualifying marks obtained, and ‘M1’ is the top 0.1% of the applicant's marks obtained appeared in the examination. ‘Sq’ is the mark assigned to ‘Mq’ i.e. 350. St is the score assigned to ‘Mt’ i.e. 900.

GATE Scorecard Validity for IITs

The GATE exam authority does not have any limitations regarding the number of attempts that you can make for admission to IITs. However, the validity of the GATE scorecard varies depending on its purpose of utilization. The validity of the GATE scorecard specifically differs for NITs, IITs, and PSU recruitments.
