IGNOU has extended this deadline three times since the admission cycle opened. Applicants should complete the form well before 31 August 2026, since further extensions are announced only through the official IGNOU website and cannot be assumed in advance.

IGNOU Online MCA Eligibility Criteria 2026
A candidate needs one of the following two qualifications to apply for the Online MCA programme. There is no minimum percentage specified by the university for either route.
Category 1:
- Passed BCA or a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering, or an equivalent degree.
Category 2:
- Passed B.Sc., B.Com., or B.A. with Mathematics at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level.
- Category 2 candidates must additionally register for and complete two bridge courses, MCS-201 (Programming in C and Python) and MCS-208 (Data Structures and Algorithms), alongside the regular MCA courses. These carry an additional fee of about Rs. 2,000.
Candidates who have not studied Mathematics at either the 10+2 level or the graduation level are not eligible for the Online MCA programme under any category.

How to Apply for IGNOU Online MCA Admission 2026?
- Visit the official Online Programmes admission portal at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
- Click on "New Registration" and enter a name, email address, and mobile number. Both the email and mobile number get verified through an OTP.
- Set a username of 8 to 16 characters and an alphanumeric password of 8 to 16 characters, then submit the registration.
- Log in with the new username and password, then open the programme list and select MCAOL: Master of Computer Applications (Online).
- Fill in personal, academic, and communication details in the application form.
- Upload the required documents, a recent photograph, and a signature in the prescribed size and format.
- Pay the applicable fee (Semester 1 programme fee plus the registration fee) through UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking.
- Submit the form and save or print a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.
