IIT Jodhpur GATE Cutoff 2026 (Expected)

The authorities will release the IIT Jodhpur GATE cutoff 2026 during the counselling process. Here is a list of expected IIT Jodhpur GATE cutoff 2026 based on previous year patterns.

Contributing Factors of IIT Jodhpur GATE Cutoff

IISc Bangalore will be considering various factors related to the GATE 2026 examination and more when preparing the GATE 2026 cutoff for IIT Jodhpur. The authorities will use the following variables to determine the GATE cutoff.

Factor

Compact but Detailed Explanation

Influence on IIT Jodhpur GATE Cutoff

Difficulty Level of the GATE Examination

The difficulty level of the GATE paper plays a fundamental role in determining cutoff scores. When the paper is difficult, average and top scores tend to be lower due to conceptual depth and tricky numerical problems. Conversely, an easier paper leads to higher overall scores, intensifying competition. Since IIT Jodhpur uses GATE scores as the primary screening parameter, any shift in paper difficulty directly impacts the minimum score required for admission.

Difficult paper → lower cutoff score; Easy paper → higher cutoff score

Number of GATE-Qualified Candidates

The total number of candidates qualifying GATE in a particular discipline determines the competition pool for IIT Jodhpur. An increase in qualified candidates raises the demand for limited seats, pushing cutoffs upward. Conversely, fewer qualifiers reduce competition. This factor becomes especially significant in popular disciplines like Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence, where applicant volume is high.

More qualified candidates → higher cutoff

Seat Availability and Intake Capacity

IIT Jodhpur has a limited number of seats in each M.Tech and research program. The institute’s relatively smaller intake compared to older IITs increases competition. Any change in the seat matrix, such as the introduction of new programs or reduction in intake, significantly alters cutoff levels. Fewer seats result in higher competition per seat, thereby increasing the cutoff.

Fewer seats → higher cutoff; More seats → lower cutoff

Branch and Specialization Demand

Demand varies widely across departments and specializations at IIT Jodhpur. High-growth areas such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Electrical Engineering attract more applicants due to better placement prospects and research opportunities. In contrast, niche or emerging programs may receive fewer applications. Higher demand for a specialization directly increases its cutoff score.

High-demand branches → higher cutoff

Category-Wise Reservation Policy

IIT Jodhpur follows the Government of India reservation policy, allocating seats to General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, and PwD categories. Separate cutoffs are declared for each category. Reserved categories have comparatively lower cutoffs due to relaxed eligibility norms and separate competition pools. The distribution of seats among categories significantly influences cutoff variation across programs.

General category → highest cutoff; Reserved categories → lower cutoffs

Previous Year Cutoff Trends and Institutional Preference

Historical cutoff trends reflect the evolving popularity and academic reputation of IIT Jodhpur. As the institute’s research output, infrastructure, and placement records improve, more candidates prefer it over newer institutions. A consistent rise in previous cutoffs often signals increased demand and is likely to continue unless major structural changes occur.

Rising trend → higher expected cutoff

As soon as the authorities announce the IIT Jodhpur GATE cutoff 2026, students will be able to view it in this article.

IIT Jodhpur GATE Cutoff 2026

IIT Jodhpur GATE cutoff 2026 will be available only after the conclusion of the admission process. However, the GATE score is the basic criterion to shortlist the students for M.Tech admission at IIT Jodhpur. IIT Jodhpur will prepare the GATE cutoff 2026 based on the factors mentioned above. In all, the GATE score is compulsory for M.Tech admission at IIT Jodhpur. The official GATE cutoff 2026 of IIT Jodhpur will be updated here soon. Why b.tech completed students not eligible for TET or DSC? B tech education is more than diet education

In most Indian states, just having a BTech degree is not enough to appear for TET or DSC. You usually need a proper teaching course like B.Ed or D.El.Ed along with it.

This isn’t about how “big” or “small” your degree is. It’s about teacher training. A BTech gives you technical knowledge, but it does not train you to teach students in a classroom. That’s why, even if BTech is a higher degree, it is not considered a teaching qualification. States want teachers who are trained specifically for teaching, which is why they insist on B.Ed or D.El.Ed.

So, if …

I am an agricultural engineer with a Master of Technology degree in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering. I would like to inquire if I am eligible for Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) after successfully clearing the GATE CE

Dear Student,

Yes, as an agricultural engineer with an MTech in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, you can apply for many PSU jobs through GATE Civil Engineering. However, it depends on the specific PSU, the post, and whether they accept a Civil Engineering GATE score for agriculture, water, or environmental roles.

Most PSUs require:

  • A valid GATE CE score for civil-related posts.
  • A good All India Rank , since cut-offs for big PSUs like IOCL, BPCL, NTPC, and PGCIL are usually high.

So, if the PSU accepts GATE CE for the post you’re interested in, scoring well in GATE CE …
