Getting educated nowadays is not just a necessity. In fact, getting a good education has become imperative for any student’s life. Every parent wants their child to go for the best of schools, colleges and institutions. Be it going for TOEFL or an MBA, students are racing against each other to get a coveted seat in a top-notch institution. And if that institution is affiliated with a premier foreign university, the height of competition gets escalated to a totally different level. Besides, the parents are also cool with churning out any amount of fees that such institutions demand.

Getting a seat in the Harvard or Trinity is not just limited to getting a good education, but it has also become a status symbol for most of the population. Usually, in order to be associated with a top brand name, the students do not even care to introspect about the course they are entering into. Whether they actually want to study further in that particular discipline is a matter that no one wants to delve into.

Some of the benefits of going for a degree from a coveted foreign university include; getting a hack of different ethnicities and cultures, grasping of new languages and interactive sessions with people from across the globe. All these factors are given good consideration when you try to go for a job with a multinational. Your chances of getting that high profile position are increased magnificently if there is mention of a degree from any of the foreign universities in your curriculum vitae.

However, take into consideration some other points as well in this regard. Besides being expensive, studying abroad will mean that you have to be away from family and friends, though you can stay connected through Skype and all the social networking sites. Moreover, you will get to make new friends, so missing on old folks should not be a very big issue. Also, some universities have got tedious application processes, albeit it’s a myth as they provide you with full assistance in this regard. If you are anxious to travel to different places, going to a foreign university will prove to be a plus point for you. But it's not necessary to follow the herd. If you want to stay within the limits of your nest, that’s also cool! After all, independence doesn’t always mean travelling or living alone. In fact, it’s a wide concept, where one should be allowed to choose his or her kind of life.

Additionally, India has got some of the best options in the form of coveted universities and institutions. So, getting a degree from any of the premier institutes of India will also provide you with great employability options. Also, you won’t have to be away from your family, in case you belong to the really sensitive group of human beings!

Considering all the aforementioned points, the ball is obviously in your court. Judge yourself. Introspect on what you really want from your life. And decide for yourself if you really want to go and study abroad. You are the best person to prioritize your life, as no one else is going to do that for you!
