Before diving into the details of how to prepare for both the JEE Main and BITSAT exams let's go through the brief about both examinations, like what exam is conducted, admission is given into which institutes, who conducts the exam, etc.

What is JEE Main 2024 Exam?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (Main), also known as JEE Main, to shortlist candidates for admission to  BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). JEE Main is also the qualifying test for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), which is used to get admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Every year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the test in different sessions. The test is given in 13 languages and is given in all states of India as well as various countries outside of India.

What is BITSAT 2024 Exam?

BITS Pilani administers the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test at the national level. Every year, BITSAT is organized to give admission to B.E., B.Pharm, M.Sc., and other courses offered at BITS campuses. Every year, around 3 lakh applicants take the BITSAT. The BITSAT 2024 exam is tentatively to be conducted in two sessions.

JEE Main and BITSAT Exam Pattern

If you are appearing for both the examination you must go through the exam pattern of JEE Main and BITSAT to check the similarities and differences between them and prepare accordingly for the exam.

JEE Main Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of JEE Main was recently updated by the National Testing Agency, and numerical response questions (questions with no alternatives and the numerical value of the answer must be typed in the input field using an on-screen keyboard) were added to the test. Go through the details of JEE Main exam pattern given below.

  • JEE Main consists of a total of 90 questions, with students having three hours to complete 75 of them.

  • The JEE Main consists of three subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics

  • JEE Main has two parts for each topic. Section 1 has 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), whereas Section 2 has 10 Numerical Response Questions (NRQs), only 5 of which must be attempted

JEE Main Vs BITSAT Preparation Strategy

BITSAT Exam questions are simpler than JEE Main questions. The questions in JEE Main are more intellectual in nature and need a thorough understanding of ideas and approaches. As a result, a student studying for JEE Main can simply take the BITSAT test as well. The main distinction between the two tests' syllabi is the inclusion of English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning in the BITSAT.

Let's go through the JEE Main and BITSAT 2024 syllabus analysis and check the topics that are common in both syllabi and what new topics need to be studied apart from the common ones in the BITSAT syllabus and JEE Main syllabus 2024.

How to prepare for BITSAT and JEE Main exams at once?

BITSAT has more questions that must be answered in three hours, making it more of a speed exam. Because the paper patterns for both tests differ, it is necessary to practice using mock test papers. To score better in exams, you should practice precision and time management. Prepare a strategy for attempting the paper in a sequence that works for you and allows you to maximize your score.

Here is a common preparation tip that will help you excel in both exams

  • Make a proper examination study plan and follow it thoroughly

  • Study from the NCERT books and use good reference books to learn and practice issues

  •  Make revision notes so that you may easily review the concepts just before the exam

  • Prepare for BITSAT by studying English and Logical Reasoning, as the other topics are covered in the JEE Main syllabus

  • Attempt BITSAT/ JEE Main previous year papers, mock test, sample papers, to improve your time management abilities
