What is NIMCET?

The National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by one of the NITs on a rotating basis. Securing a good rank in NIMCET is crucial for securing admission to MCA programs at participating NITs.

MCA Admissions in India Through NIMCET 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to get admission to MCA through NIMCET 2025 need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Nationality: Indian Citizen
  • Educational Qualification: A bachelor's degree (BCA, BSc (Hons), BSc, BIT) with Mathematics or Statistics as a subject under the 10+2+3 pattern from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • General Category: Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
    • SC/ST Category: Minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
  • Appearing Candidates: Final year students awaiting results are also eligible to apply.

How to Apply for MCA Admissions Through NIMCET 2025

Candidates can follow the steps below to fill out NIMCET 2025 application form :

  • Go to the official website of NIMCET at nimcet.admissions.nic.in.
  • Click on the registration link.
  • Fill in all the details and complete the registration process.
  • Once the registration is done, Fill in the application form with the required information.
  • Upload the scanned signature and photograph.
  • Pay the application fees online via credit/debit card or internet banking.

After the application fee is successfully paid the form will automatically be filled and the candidates can generate the pdf and keep it for future reference. Candidates can also take the printout of the application.

MCA Admission ProcessThrough NIMCET 2025

Admission to MCA programs at participating NITs is based solely on the rank secured in NIMCET. Shortlisted candidates are then called for counseling based on their rank, category, and seat availability in their preferred NITs. There will be four rounds of the counseling process of NIMCET 2025 . The seat allotted to the candidates has to log in and pay a token fee to confirm the admission.
