The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan is implementing various schemes transferred by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India for promotion and propagation of Sanskrit language and literature.The details of Scheme-

Financial Assitance to Voluntary Sanskrit Organisations :

Around 767 Voluntary Sanskrit institutions are assisted by this scheme.Sansthan gives 75% grant of the approved expenditure and 25% grant is met by the institutions are meet from their own resources.

All India Sanskrit Elocution Contest :

Under this scheme, an All India Sanskrit Elocution contest for the students of traditional Pathshalas, is organised every year in different parts of the country in eight shastraic subjects, besides Slokantyakshari and Samasyapurti.

Shastra Chudamani Scheme :

Eminent retired teachers and scholars of Sanskrit are appointed in the Vidyapeethas of the Sansthan and other Sanskrit institutions for a period of two years (extendable for one year) to give in-depth training to young scholars and students in different shastras and disciplines of Sanskrit learning.

Vocational Training Scheme :

Under this scheme, Sanskrit institutions are granted financial assistance for organising short term vocational training to the students of Sanskrit in Jyotish, Karmakanda, Paleography, Cataloguing Manuscriptology, Sanskrit shorthand, typewriting etc.

Sanskrit Dictionary Project :

Under this project it is intended to prepare an encyclopaedic Sanskrit Dictionary on historical principals spanning the period from 1500 B.C. upto 1900 A.D. has been undertaken by Deccan College, Poona. The Project was started in the year 1948.

Monetary grant to Scholars awarded certificate of honour from President of India:

The Sansthan is releasing monetary grant to the tune of Rs. 50,000/- p.a. to the Scholars awarded a certificate of honour by the President of India to the scholars of Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit, Arabic and Pharsi. Publication

1. Production of Sanskrit literature including News Papers and Journals.

2. Purchase of Sanskrit books including the reprint of out of print rare books.

3. Purchase and publication of manuscripts.

Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalayas / Shodh Sansthan:

The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan is operating 22 Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalayas / Shodh Sansthan under the scheme for financial assistance to Institutions recognised as Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalayas / Shodh Sansthan. The objective of the Scheme is to support and promote traditional Sanskrit learning and research. For this purpose, assistance is extended under this scheme to Sanskrit Mahavidyalayas for conducting courses at the level of Park Shastri, Shastri and Acharya and to Shodh Sansthan for organising and conducting research, both at doctoral and post-doctoral levels.

Besides that Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan financially assist Mahavidyalaya / Shodh Sansthan to the extent of 95% the admissible expenditure for recurring items and 75% on no- recurring items of expenditure.
