NEET PG 2024 Branch-Wise Cutoff

Expected NEET PG 2024 Branch-wise Cutoff for top colleges provides students an idea of their performances and an assurance of whether they have cleared the test or not. It also allows the students to calculate the minimum required marks to secure admission at their desired institution. The NEET PG 2024 Cutoff for various categories will be published along with the Result PDF. The previous year's (2023) cutoff score for general category candidates was 291, for SC/ ST/ OBC category students, it was 257. The cutoff criteria for PwBD category students was 274. NEET PG 2024 Cutoff Types

The NEET PG 2024 cutoff is of the following types:

  • 50% All India Quota seats (excluding former Jammu & Kashmir state): This includes 50% seat reservation in medical colleges for candidates applying all over India except those belonging to the state of Jammu & Kashmir.

  • 50% State Quota seats (including state of Jammu and Kashmir): This refers to the state quota under which 50% of the total seats in government medical colleges are reserved for students applying for admission in their respective states. Candidates from Jammu & Kashmir are also eligible to apply under this category. The admission for state quota, however, is conducted by the state councils.

NEET PG Cutoff 2024 Tie-Breaking Criteria

The examination authority has devised a set of criteria to resolve instances of tied scores among candidates in NEET PG 2024. Eight specific tie-breaking criteria have been established, each following a predetermined sequence. If the initial criterion fails to break the tie, subsequent criteria (2 through 8) will be sequentially applied. The factors used to determine higher rankings for such candidates are as follows, presented in a preferred order:

  • 1st Criterion: The candidate with the fewest incorrect responses across all three sections (Sections A + B + C) will be assigned a higher rank.
  • 2nd Criterion: Higher ranking is given to the candidate with a superior score in Section C.
  • 3rd Criterion: Priority is given to the candidate with the least number of incorrect answers in Section C.
  • 4th Criterion: A higher rank is granted to the candidate obtaining more marks in Section B.
  • 5th Criterion: Preference is given to the applicant with the fewest wrong answers in Section B.
  • 6th Criterion: The candidate securing more marks in Section A will be positioned higher in the ranking.
  • 7th Criterion: Priority is given to the candidate with the lesser number of incorrect answers in Section A.
  • 8th Criterion: In the case of a tie, an older applicant will receive a higher rank.

NEET PG 2024 Merit List

The NBE publishes the NEET PG 2024 merit list for 50% All India Quota seats on its official website (nbe.edu.in) in the PDF format. Those who secure a place in the NEET PG Merit List 2024 will be deemed eligible to register online for NEET PG 2024 seat allocation. The NEET PG 2024 Merit List will be released soon after the result is declared. 

NEET PG Counselling 2024

As of now, the exam conducting body has not released any notification regarding the counselling dates. However, NEET PG exam date has been released. The NEET PG exam for the session 2024-25 will be conducted on June 23, 2024. NEET PG 2024 counselling is expected to be held in September 2024. The following is conducted online for admission to 50% AIQ seats, 50% State Quota seats, and 100% seats in AFMS/ESIC and central/deemed universities. To appear for NEET PG 2024 counselling rounds, candidates need to register on the official website, log in with the credentials provided and enter personal details. Once registered, they need to fill in the name of the colleges and courses they wish to apply to and pay a counselling fee to lock in their choices.

The authority allots seats to candidates based on these preferences. However, the final admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses is done based on reservation criteria, availability of seats, and the candidate’s NEET AIR.
