UCEED Passing Marks 2026: The UCEED passing marks 2026 or the UCEED 2026 cutoffs for Part A are expected to be declared in February 2026. IIT Bombay will declare the official mean and standard deviation for Part A. The mean and standard deviation for Part A (UCEED 2026) are likely to be around 60.50-62.50 and 24.69-26.69, respectively. A good score for UCEED 2026 exam is generally considered to be between 115 and 125 out of 300. If you belong to the general category, you must aim to score above 135 to secure a spot among the top 1000 candidates. There is no minimum passing or qualifying score in UCEED 2026. The exam aims to get a high rank that would help in getting admission to a B.Des program in one of the UCEED participating colleges 2026. Read below to learn about the expected UCEED passing marks 2026 to know your chance to study at top design colleges in India .

Expected UCEED Qualifying Cutoff 2026 (Expected)

The UCEED cutoff for 2026 for Part A will be announced after the exam. It has been reported in terms of mean and standard deviation. The predicted UCEED 2026 cutoff is shown in the table below:

Particulars

UCEED Cutoff 2026

Mean Deviation

60.50 to 62.50

Standard Deviation

24.69 to 26.69

UCEED cut-offs for other categories will be derived as a percentage of the General category cut-off:

  • OBC/EWS: 0.9 * y
  • SC/ST/PwD: 0.5 * y

Where y is the UCEED cutoff mark for the open category.

Note: These are just predictions based on available data. The actual UCEED passing marks 2026 and cut-offs might vary depending on several factors.

UCEED Shortlisting Criteria 2026

The UCEED 2026 shortlisting criteria have been moulded by IIT Bombay, and a new formula has been introduced to calculate the UCEED 2026 cutoff. Check out the revised formula to calculate the UCEED 2026 score given below:

The cutoffs (y) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the Open category will be x + (z⁄2) = y,

where ‘x’ denotes the average marks

‘z’ denotes the standard deviation of the distribution of marks obtained by all candidates in Part A of the UCEED exam.

The x and z will be rounded off after the first decimal place.

If you belong to the reserved category, you will have a relaxed cut-off mark, with y being the cut-off for Open-category students in the formula used.

Various factors, such as seat availability, difficulty level, and others, help in determining the UCEED 2026 cutoff marks. Check below for more details:

  • Number of Qualifying Candidates: The total number of candidates surpassing the minimum qualifying marks in both parts of the exam significantly impacts the cut-off. A higher number of qualifying candidates generally leads to increased competition and higher cut-off scores.

  • Difficulty Level of the Exam: The perceived difficulty of the UCEED 2026 exam, especially Part A, plays a crucial role. An easier exam might result in higher scores and potentially higher cut-offs, while a tougher exam could lead to lower cut-offs.

  • Number of Seats Available: The total number of seats offered in the participating B.Des programs directly influences cut-off scores. Fewer available seats often lead to a higher cut-off, while more seats might result in a slightly lower cut-off.

  • Previous Year Cut-Off Trends: Although not a guarantee of future outcomes, analyzing cut-off marks from previous years can provide insights into potential trends. However, it's essential to remember that variations can occur due to other influencing factors.

  • Category Reservation: The Indian government mandates seat reservations for various categories like SC, ST, OBC, and PwD. Separate cut-off marks are calculated for each category based on a percentage of the General category cut-off to ensure fair representation.

LPU is best if you want to study design through flexible learning. Between a general B.Design correspondence course and distance learning at LPU, the LPU option is better because it offers structured online classes, digital resources, expert faculty support, and industry-oriented assignments. LPU focuses on practical learning even in distance mode, helping students build design skills through projects, software training, and regular evaluations. The university’s recognition, curriculum quality, and student support make its distance learning a more reliable and career-focused choice.

Yes, candidates are allowed to use a pen and blank sheets of paper for rough work during the LPUNEST online proctored exam. The sheets must be completely blank before the test begins, and the proctor may request a webcam check of these sheets at any point. This ensures exam integrity while still giving students the flexibility to do necessary calculations.
