The West Bengal PG Medical Counselling registration is expected to begin online on the official webpage in September 2025. Students who clear the cutoff for the WB NEET PG counselling will be eligible to participate in the West Bengal NEET PG counselling, which started after the NEET PG 2025 results were announced. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), West Bengal, is organising the West Bengal NEET PG 2025 Counselling online through its official website, i.e. wbmcc.nic.in/pg/. The WB PG Medical Counselling 2025 will be conducted in three rounds, including a mop-up round, with a stray vacancy round also being held on the website if any seats remain vacant. West Bengal PG Medical Counselling Eligibility Criteria 2025

If you are interested in pursuing a PG medical course from one of the medical colleges in West Bengal, then you must ensure that you qualify the requisite WB PG Medical Counselling eligibility criteria 2025. As per the official notification;

• Candidates must be citizens of India.

• Candidates who completed their MBBS degree from one of the MBBS colleges in the state or are permanent residents of the state will be eligible for the counselling process under State-Quota.

• Candidates must have qualified NEET-PG 2025.

• Candidates who have completed the MBBS degree from institutions outside of the state and are non-residents of the state, but have been employed under WB government in rural areas for 3 years continuously, are eligible for the counselling process

• All candidates must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the State Medical Council.

• Aspirants must have completed successfully, one full year of Rotary Internship as on 31st March 2025.

• Candidates must be medically fit.

West Bengal PG Medical Counselling Application Process 2025

For West Bengal PG medical admission 2025 eligible candidates must go through the following steps:

Application Process:

• Check that you meet the eligibility criteria before applying.
• The WBUHS only accepts applications online.
• If you qualify for NEET-PG 2022, go to wbuhs.ac.in to access the application form.
• Provide the required information, including your name and NEET-PG 2022 score, and upload the necessary documents.
• Pay the counselling application fee of ₹3,000 online using NET Banking, Credit/Debit Card.
• After payment, print the acknowledgement receipt.

Physical Document Verification Process:

• Attend the physical document verification process at the respective centre (WBUHS), as specified on the acknowledgement slip.

Selection Process:

• Eligible candidates will be selected by the competent authority.
• Selected candidates will be able to choose their preferences for PG medical courses.
• The WBUHS will release the list of eligible applicants for State-Quota seats on its official website, taking into account reservation quotas for different categories.

Documents Required for West Bengal PG Medical Counselling Process 2025

During the document verification process, the candidates are asked to display a certain list of documents required for West Bengal PG medical counselling process 2025. The list of documents needed has been mentioned below:

• NEET-PG Admit Card 2025

• NEET-PG 2025 Rank Card or Scorecard

• Two ID proofs such as Aadhar Card, EPIC or candidate’s passport

• Certificates of proof of age such as Class 10 admit card or certificate or birth certificate

• For those candidates who graduated MBBS from outside the state, Aadhar, EPIC, or passport of candidate or parents living in the state.

• Authorised certificate proving domicile of the candidate, issued by the competent authority.

• MBBS certificate

• MBBS mark sheet - 3rd Prof part-2

• Permanent or provisional certificate from MCI or State Medical council

• Certificate proving caste of a student, if applicable

• For OBC-NCL, the certificate should be issued on or after 1st Jan 2025

• Relevant Certificates issued by competent authority for different reservation categories, including PwD

• Certificate of completion from a place of internship

• Proof of degree, if applicable, should be issued by 30th April 2025.

West Bengal PG Medical Counselling Process 2025

As part of the medical counselling process in West Bengal, candidates are asked to take part in the counselling process as per the merit lists released by WBUHS. In total, the West Bengal PG Medical Counselling consists of three rounds of counselling, which also includes the mop-up round. Basis the regulations, all candidates who are allotted a seat in the course and college will be asked to report to the respective colleges within the stipulated time period.

Round 1:

After WBUHS releases the first merit list candidates will be able to select their preferred choice of college and course. They must select the course and college in the order of preference and they will be allowed to select as many choices as they like.

Based on the rank obtained by the candidate in NEET-PG 2025, combined with the preference of college and course chosen by the candidate, they will be allocated the seats. Candidates who have been allocated a seat must report to the allotted college within the stipulated time period.

Round 2:

Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round of counselling may get a chance at grabbing a seat in Round 2 of counselling. Depending on the vacancies available for the different PG medical courses in the colleges, the remaining candidates will be allocated a seat. As in round 1, candidates who are allotted a seat in the second round must report to the respective colleges, within the stipulated time period. All candidates are required to submit their status retention report, stating their stance of accepting the course and college allotted to them.

Mop-up Round:

After two rounds of counselling, if the PG medical seats in the colleges still remain vacant, the candidates who missed out on the opportunity will be offered the seats based on their scores in the NEET-PG 2025. As per the NBE guidelines, 50% of the seats in the medical colleges have been reserved for All India Quota while the rest have been reserved for State Quota and Private Management quota seats. Depending on the regulations of the government, the seats will be distributed among the different categories.
