Shortlisting Candidates for GE & PI Rounds:
- After the MICAT results are announced, a psychometric test is conducted. This test is mandatory to qualify for the GE and PI rounds but does not impact the final selection.
- Candidates who pass the psychometric test will be shortlisted for the GE and PI rounds. For those who took both Phase I and Phase II, the higher score will be considered.
- CAT/XAT/GMAT scores are also factored in, and candidates' MICAT Section C performance will be evaluated.
- The shortlist is based on a Composite Score formula: 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT scores and 50% MICAT scores.
- MICAT Section C scores are normalized. Candidates must meet minimum cut-offs for both percentile and raw scores in Sections C and B.
- The final merit list is created by assessing Section C and Section B performances. Approximately 10% of candidates from the two MICAT phases are shortlisted for the GE and PI rounds.
- To qualify for the final selection, candidates need at least 3.5 marks in the Group Exercise and 4 marks in the Personal Interview.
- GE and PI rounds are held in Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi.
- The final merit list for MICAT 2026 will be declared after all tests and rounds are completed.

The scores of all qualified candidates up to the level that applies to the candidate are taken into account and then normalized using the relevant statistical procedures. For each subsection separately, normalized scores will be calculated. Useful statistical techniques will also be used to normalize the total MICAT-I/MICAT-II score. Here are some important points regarding the final merit list of MICAT 2026.
- The final MICAT 2026 Merit List will be released by MICA on or before April 15, 2026
- Students who qualify in their first preference programs will have their names removed from the second preference.
- The final list will be declared based on the Psychometric test, MICAT test (Phase 1 & Phase 2), Group Exercise, and Personal Interview round.
- Further, if a candidate is offered a seat in his/her second priority program, then the admission is given with an undertaking to remove their name from the first preference. If the student declines the offer, they can continue on the waiting list for their first preference.
MICAT Selection Process
Go through the following points to know the MICAT selection process 2026 :
- Selected students will have two options to choose from - PGDM and PGDM-C.
- The final list will be prepared after taking into account all the parameters: CAT/XAT/GMAT scores, MICAT scores, and GE & PI scores.
- The final list will be declared on the official website of the institute only. Candidates will have to take a look at the official website directly.
- The merit list will be declared after the completion of the entire process. Any student skipping any step will not be considered for admission.
- All candidates will have to select their first and second preferences mandatorily while filling out the form.
Once you clear all the parameters successfully, you can secure admissions to the preferred programs (PGDM, PGDM-C) for a two-year Post-Graduate course at the leading institutes.
Admission to either course, PGDM-C, and the PGDM, will be granted to students who have chosen both programmes based on merit. The candidate's choice of programme will also be taken into consideration. Since the PGDM programme places a stronger focus on analytics, PDGM applicants' quantitative abilities and data interpretation (QADI) cut-offs could be higher. A candidate's name will automatically be removed from the list of applicants for the programme of his or her second preference after that individual, according to the merit list, has been given admission to the course of his or her priority.

FAQs
Merit-based admission will be offered, and only then will consideration of the programme of choice be given. When a candidate is offered admission to the programme of his or her first priority based on the merit list, their name is automatically removed from the list of applicants for the programme of their second priority. If a candidate is offered admission to a programme that is his second priority, he will have two choices: accept the offer and agree to have their name taken off the waitlist for the programme that is his first priority, or reject the offer and keep their name on the waitlist for the programme that is his first priority. All candidates who appear for the GE and PI rounds are taken into account when creating the final merit list, and they must be recommended by the majority of the PI panelists.
The average annual salary package after graduating from MICA Ahmedabad stands at INR 19,00,000. The average yearly compensation for the top 50% of the candidates is INR 24,00,000. Also, the median package stands at INR 17,10,000. The top sector where maximum MICA graduates were recruited is IT/ ITES.
If candidates get a good score in MICAT, a 70 to 75 percentile on the CAT will be accepted by MICA under some conditions, but there is no chance of admission if they obtain less than 70 percentile. However, since MICA also accepts XAT scores, candidates must try to score a good percentile like 75-80 on the XAT.
MICA Ahmedabad will shortlist the candidates on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT exam score and MICAT score. 50% weightage is awarded to CAT/XAT/GMAT scores and another 50% weightage is given to MICAT scores.
Performance on the CAT, XAT, or GMAT is not taken into consideration when determining the composite score used for ranking. The CAT, XAT, and GMAT are required exams for admission at MICA. But among all MICAT applicants, those who obtain confirmed offers (formerly known as "spot offers") must rank in the top 10% of applicants based on their CAT/XAT/GMAT scores.
You must have an overall 80 percentile on the CAT/XAT/GMAT for MICA. However, the actual cutoff may go above 80 percentile. Your CAT, XAT, or GMAT score must rank in the top 10% of all applicants to MICAT in order to receive a spot offer. However, regardless of your CAT/XAT/GMAT Score, you can be selected for the other usual list that will be released later based on your GE/PI and MICAT performance.
The MICAT 2024 final composite score shall be created based on the following weightage:
- CAT/XAT/GMAT: 20%
- MICAT: 30%
- GE: 20%
- PI: 30%
