The University of Wollongong (UOW) is an Australian public research university, which was established in 1975 as an independent institution. It is situated in the coastal city of Wollongong, New South Wales, approximately 80 kilometres south of Sydney. Over the years, the university expanded to form a network of 10 campuses. The QS Global World University ranking 2020 of UOW is 212. The university is young and vibrant and it has managed to become one of the prominent universities of the world in a short span of time.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The university campus houses over 25,000 students and 2000 staff. International students at UOW represent 179 countries. More than 400 undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes are offered at UOW campus. Apart from an outstanding teaching platform and latest technology and equipment for research, the university campus has accommodation for students, standard library and conference halls. It also has cafes, restaurants, food courts and retail outlets for the comfort of the students. Students can experience good leisure within the university campus as there is enough space within the campus for indoor games, gymnasium, sports fields as well as Olympic-standard swimming pool.

Today, the University of Wollongong is among the leading universities of the World. UOW has been ranked as the number 1 university in NSW by the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT). The University also has alumni members in 143 countries. Nashville actor Clare Bowen, rugby league player Ben Creagh, and member of Australian Parliament - Stephen Jones are some of the popular names who have graduated from the University.
