History, Affiliations & Ranking

Founded in the year 1841, Queen’s University is a public research institute that was initiated by Queen Victoria’s royal charter. It is among the oldest foundations been set up in Canada. The University is equally distant from the two big cities namely- Montreal & Toronto. Hence located in Ontario, Canada. Queen’s University at Kingston is ranked #=246 by QS Global World Ranking 2021. It is also ranked at 251–300th in the World University Rankings 2020 by Times Higher Education. Various programs of the institution are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board of Engineers Canada and CIPS (Canada's Association of Information Technology Professionals).

Infrastructure, Courses & Campus

It offers almost 125 graduate programs which include creative arts, humanities, engineering, health science- medicine, nursing, rehabilitation therapy, computing, law, and so forth. Career opportunities at Queen’s university are completely obligated to inclusion, diversity, and equality. Besides, its campus is a room for several art facilities, museums and almost covers an area of 100 acres of land. The faculty of engineering and applied science has partnered with more than 50 industry and government organizations.  Also, Queen's University’s Partnerships and Innovation (QPI) supports the Research Portfolio’s mission for advancing research and knowledge mobilization, strengthening. The university has over 159,000 notable alumni and some of them are well known as Andrew J Feustel (Nasa Astraunaut), David Card (Economist, Winner Of John Bates Clark Medal), George Ramsay Cook (Canadian Historian), Dean Armstrong (Actor), F.C. Kohli (Former Ceo Of Tata Consultancy Service, TCS).

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

As reported in their 2019-20 annual report, the Queen’s University holds an enrollment of 25,260 students from over 100 countries. More than 18,000 students have joined to pursue undergraduate programs. As many as 3,877 undergraduate and graduate international students from 121 countries have opted to pursue an education at Queens University at Kingston. The Queen’s international student-faculty ratio is 11.3. Almost 60% of first-year students are women.
